Fist Pump Redux

I posted this 2 years ago... Still feel the same way. I'm totally excited about the postseason, and I know we have a great shot at winning it all this year. It's Fist Pump Time!!!

Of course, it isn't the fist pump itself as much as it is the action that preceded it, but still.... when fist-pumpable activities occur, I know the Yankees won't let me down. They will never give up.

Isn't it great to see that October fist pump again? Isn't it awesome to see what hopefully is a fire lit in our guys?

Welcome back, October fist pump!

Haha. There's a certain magic that goes along with THE fist pump and October. It gives me chills, I must admit. Here's to a great PS!

I'm an October baby which is even better. For me it's month long party.

I love the first pump but I love the quick clap after a base hit just as much

Current 2006 postseason Jeter Meter: Fist Pump 0, Quick Clap 0.

We'll update as needed starting Oct. 3.

Those that live by the fist pump die by the fist pump.

Re: Fist Pump Redux

I love the fist pump. I've always competed in competitive activities, but I live by the "don't talk sh*t...always carry yourself in a respectable manner". Perhaps that's why I always modeled the way I carry myself in sports after DJ. My brother has noticed for the past couple years that I always do that Derek Jeter one fist pump anytime something big happens to me. It grows on you, I guess. As Allan said, you live by the fist pump and die by the fist pump.

I love the fist pumps. One I remember is when Jeter caught game ending pop of one of the alcs games at fenway in 2003 (i think game 5). Another favorite fist pump was Jorge's after the bloop to tie the game in game 7 alcs. The fist pump especially Jeter's is definately an icon of October.

He also gave us one after his first double. After Derek slid into 2nd base, he definately fist pumped. I saw it live at the stadium, so I'm not sure if it made it onto TV.

Re: Fist Pump Redux

Yeah, the knock-my-own-hat-half-off fist pump was a classic.

So, a couple FPs and a couple QCs, it appears, by consensus.

Well, then, I guess we should put the Meter at 2/2.

I was at the game, BTW, and did a few of both myself.

On TV, that one looked more like a hand clap, but I saw it too.
