Embree is terrible
I'm convinced he is still on the Sox payroll. This guy is unwatchable.

Re: Embree is terrible
He's not the best, but he didn't walk in the winning run...

Re: Embree is terrible
I'd rather have him than Groom or Stanton.

Re: Embree is terrible
My theory...
Steinbrenner bought him out, so Al attempted to sabotage the Sox's season. So naturally Theo DFAs him, but little did Theo know about Steinbrenner's little plot...Cash acquires Embree, Joe's got his V-LOOGY, all's well with the world because of Steinbrenner's scheme. But Old Al never made that much money from the Sox, anyway, so he did the old 'double-cross' and is back on Theo's payroll. Solution? DFA, forever. |

Re: Embree is terrible
No kidding. Anyone ever hear of a team winning a game when they give up a grand slam in extra innings? Ever?
I'm pretty sure Proctor needs to go before Embree. Quote:

I think the word is "embedded." BTW, when has he ever been considered a LOOGY? His numbers are better against righties and he wasn't used as a lefty specialist in Boston, the Sox got Myers last season when Embree was still effective. |

Wait you want Embree whos pitched 6 IP's since he got here and has an ERA of 7.50 over Stanton whom since he left has pitched 7.2 IP's with an ERA of 1.35 and has continued to dominate lefties. Who let Joe Morgan on the board? Stats are for nerds! |

Re: Embree is terrible
How on earth can a thread be dedicated to how bad Embree is a day after Proctor balks a runner to third and then walks in the winning run on 4 straight pitches that missed the zone by 1 to two feet? Lets deal with the problem that is right in front of us.

If your rivals let him go, why would you want him? Hmmmm.

Re: Embree is terrible
I feel conflicted about Embree, he was so good for the Sox in the past I want to wish him well. On the other hand he goes to the Yanks so I can't help but want him to fail...brutal. I think he is done, if not for his career at least for this year.

Re: Embree is terrible
Most DFA pitchers, by definition, are terrible. The Yanks seem to have have gotten incredibly lucky on some of their scrap heap pickups thus far - but you cannot seriously expect every one of them to suddenly morph into Chacon.
More than likely, you get Remlindinger. |

Yeah, that idiot needs to be released, fast. Bringing him in was probably sort of a "last shot" deal for him, which he obviously bombed. His stat line so far with the Sox is like 1 IP, 6 ER. |
