So Netshrine, what was the reason why this was done? Enquiring minds want to know.

I'm not sure why (I'm sure the Shriner knows), but Peterson got Mrs. Kekich, the two Kekich daughters, and the Kekich dog, while Kekich got Mrs. Peterson and the two Peterson sons. And Kekich and Mrs. Peterson divorced not long afterwards

Maury Allen did a big write-up on it in ALL ROADS LEAD TO OCTOBER. (It's just an OK book, IMHO.)

If I remember right, Mrs. Peterson was kinda wild - as was Kekich (the pitcher). Mrs. Kekich was somewhat insecure - something Kekich couldn't handle but Peterson (the pitcher) could - - - neither mother wanted to leave their kids - - - so, the guys just swapped entire families.

Peterson and the former Mrs. Kekich are still married.
Kekich and the former Mrs. Peterson only lasted a few months together.

Hey guys, thanks for the scoop. I can't believe they swapped everything when they swapped wifes. Pretty weird.

Strange twist,

they both were traded to the same team.

What was the team?

Cleveland Indians. But by the time Peterson was traded to them, Kekich was long gone

ElDuque110,
It was Cleveland. Kekich in ''73, then Peterson in ''74, Peterson was part of the deal that brought Chris Chambliss to the Yanks.

That was a great trade for the Yankees and Peterson.
