Yankee uniform and hat patches, or other alterations, since 1995

Well, we know the uniform style has remained for the most part unchanged since the white "shadowing" was added to the road greys since the 1970s. Well, the pinstripes have gotten bolder is the real "change"

Anyway, my post in the shirt thread reminded me that since 1994 it really seemed that the Yankees have added patches, or something, to the uniform virtually every season:

1994: The MLB 150th Anniversary patch
1995: From Aug 13th on a black # 7
1996: Armband for Mel Allen after June 16th, during the WS a WS patch
1997: I don't think anything
1998: I don't think anything, during the WS a WS patch
1999: A black # 5, during the WS a WS patch
2000: I don't think anything, during the WS a WS patch
2001: A black armband after 9/11, During WS the American Flag on back and WS patch
2002: I don't think anything
2003: Team centennial patch, during WS a WS patch
2004-2006 I don't think anything
2007: Black armband for Hank Bauer, a black # 10 after August 13th
2008: YS Final Season patch, ASG patch during first half of season, black armband for Bobby Murcer
2009: YS III Inaugural Season patch

Whew, that is a lot of stuff worn by the Yankees, coming off a time frame where other than a black armband for a couple of passings I can think of; the YS 50th Anniversary patch, the MLB 100th Anniversary patch, An AL 50th Anniversary patch in 1951, and the Worlds Fair patch in 1938-1939 being the only Yankee uniform alterations since the Yankees debuted in 1903!

This is only tangentially relevant: why do the Yankees never wear their oldschool uniforms? It looks so cool when other teams do it!

Oldschool? The Pinstripes ARE oldschool...

But yes, I remember ONE game where they wore The old "look" uniforms. Wasn't it something to do with the Negro Leagues or something?

That was at Detroit in 96 to honor the negro leagues. The Yanks interlocking NY dates to 1936, thats old school.

Right, thanks on both the JR 1997 patch and the Lidle black armband. Well that was thinking quickly and off the top of my head and all!

Hmmm, I know the patch you mean, but I thought that was for the original AL teams only, and not the Yankees?

2004 - the yankees wore a RICOH patch during the opening series in Japan

2005 - the yankees wore a salvation army patch in a september home series to honor the relief workers after Hurricane Katrina

I'd like to see the team rocking this old style sometime. The warmer beige/white is soothing.

1999 also had a black armband for Catfish Hunter. Also, starting with the 2000 season all major league teams had the little MLB logo at the base of the neck on the back of each jersey.

That would be cool, but those are flannel. Or I'd like the Yanks to change their road grays to the ones they wore when Mickey Mantle played.

The all star game patches were worn through out the entire 2008 season, not just the first half.

Here is a picture of pudge wearing it in september.

When did the underside of the cap go from green to gray?
