Yankee Rally @ Noon Monday -- Bryant Park
Anyone going???
http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/NASAp...=.jsp&c_id=nyy Yanks to host Rally Monday event 10/02/2005 1:07 PM ET By Ben Couch / MLB.com After 30 games, the Yankees' record was 11-19, leaving them nine games out of first place in the American League East. Two of the five starting pitchers who would finish the season weren't members of the team in April -- or May or June. The New York Yankees were in trouble. Or so everyone thought. Despite a rash of injuries to the pitching staff and suffering recurring bouts of inconsistency, the Yankees clinched their eighth consecutive AL East title with an 8-4 victory against the Red Sox on Saturday. Yankees fans will get a chance to join in the revelry Monday, Oct. 3, when the team throws a Rally Monday celebration at New York's Bryant Park, located between 40th and 42nd Streets and Fifth and Sixth Avenues in Manhattan. The Rally Monday celebration will feature several former Yankees, including Jim Leyritz, Graig Nettles and Mickey Rivers. Yankee broadcasters John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman will also attend. WFAN will emcee the event, which will begin at noon ET and last until 1 p.m. Rally Monday is free, open to the public and will take place rain or shine. The Yankees' playoff run begins Tuesday at 8 p.m., when they will face either the Los Angeles Angels or Cleveland Indians. If the Yankees lose Sunday and the Angels win, Los Angeles would have home-field advantage. In any other scenario, the Yankees would open at home. Among active streaks, the Yankees' eight straight division titles are surpassed only by the Braves, who clinched their 14th consecutive title Tuesday night. Directions to Rally Monday: Subway Take the F, V, B or D trains to the 42nd Street/Bryant Park station OR Take the 7 train to the 5th Ave. station. NOTE: There are several parking garages in the vicinity. For more information, visit: http://www.bryantpark.org/hours-directions_parking.php |

Re: Yankee Rally @ Noon Monday -- Bryant Park
I was there (I work at the library) ... I had to eat my lunch first, though, so I got in line late. The rally towels were gone, and my raffle number wasn't a winner. Got to hear most of the old-timers address the crowd.
The next-to-last cheer was "Boston ... " which I thought was a bit odd for a team going into a playoff series with a team that plays on the West Coast. |

Re: Yankee Rally @ Noon Monday -- Bryant Park
My post was first
.I went too, there weren't a ton of people there, but it was fun. I didn't win anything either, and I snuck into the other line to get a towel. I might be on TV though. Look for the girl in the yankees hat . |
