Complete Draft Summary (lots of images)
ack this took way too ................ing long.
1st Round (#17) (OF) C.J Henry - Putnam City HS (Oklahoma City, OK) [5/31/86] Height: 6'3 / Weight: 205 2005 Stats: .481 AVG - 13 HR - 21 SB 2004 Stats: .516 AVG - 7 HR - 13 SB Scouting Report: Built similar to Alex Rodriguez. Similar kinds of ability. Puts some strength into a slightly uppercut swing. Home run power from alley to alley. Quick and agile in the infield w/ sure hands. Likes to run. Good instincts on the base paths. Makes everything look easy. BA sez: He's an exceptional athlete with a tantalizing combination of power and speed. One crosschecker calls him a potential Gary Sheffield and also compares him to Vernon Wells. Henry's swing isn't as pure as Wells' and it will take him time to adjust to professional pitching, but he should take off once he gets acclimated and focuses full-time on baseball. Henry also will have to polish his defensive game. He plays shortstop now but may not have quite enough arm to play there in the majors. That's not a concern, however, because Henry's tools would play well either in center field or at third base. PG sez: #14 on Top 1,000 list Other Info: Two-sport guy. Committed to baseball. Very raw. ========================================== 2nd Round (#63) (RHP) J. Brent Cox - University Of Texas [5/13/84] Height: 6'3 / Weight: 205 2005 Stats: 34 G - 64 IP - 47 H - 16 BB - 71 SO - 1.69 ERA Scouting Report: Large frame. Strong, lean mature, proportioned build. Mostly FB 87-88 from side-arm slot, hard run & heavy sink when down. Short, tight slurve-slider. Feel for change-up. BA sez: He can dial his fastball up into the low 90s, but it's far more effective at 88-89 mph because it has more sink and runs in on righthanders. As with Street, a late-breaking power slider is his best pitch. There's some violence to Cox' delivery, but he has been durable and throws strikes with ease. His stuff may be a bit short to be a big league closer, though he might have the moxie to pull it off. The team that selects Cox should get at least a solid set-up man who can move through the minors in a hurry. Other Info: Successor to Huston Street. Should move quickly in the system. Roster Link: http://www.texassports.com/index.php...7&member_id=34 Stats Link: http://www.texassports.com/doc_lib/05_ba_teamcume.htm ========================================== 3rd Round (#109) (OF) Brett Gardner - College of Charleston [8/24/83] Height: 5'10 / Weight: 180 2005 Stats: 273 AB - .447/.506/.571 - 29/18 BB/K - 38 SB Scouting Report: Medium-large frame, compact body. Well-built. Solid, muscular, well-defined. Works to stay on top of ball. Gap power. Gift of raw speed. Accurate arm. Patrols CF, jumps w/ direct routes. Plus athlete. BA sez: Some scouts consider him a true leadoff threat because he has top-of-the-line speed, rating an 80 on the 20-80 scouting scale. Gardner used his speed to rank among the national leaders in hits, batting and stolen bases. Gardner has first-step quickness and is at top speed after one or two steps, and he reminds scouts of Devil Rays prospect Joey Gathright with his explosiveness. He also stays within himself offensively with a flat swing that sprays line drives and hard ground balls; he rarely flies out. His instincts are solid and he has room for improvement defensively and with his bunting. Other Info: Possible lead-off man with very good speed and good strike zone judgement. Doesn't appear to have much power. Roster Link: http://www.cofcsports.com/content/?/..._gardner_brett Stats Link: http://cougars.cofc.edu/mens/baseball//teamcume.htm ========================================== 4th Round (#139) (RHP) Lance Pendleton - Rice University [9/10/83] Height: 6'3 / Weight: 195 2005 Stats: 17 G - 30 IP - 22 H - 15 BB - 29 SO - 2.70 ERA Scouting Report: Physically similar to Orel Hersheiser. Loose, quick arm brings low-90s heat that tails into RHH. CB has 12-6 break, tight, quick at the end. Adding circle change to his repetoire. Pitches w/ aggressive demeanor. BA sez: Some teams may prefer Pendleton on the mound, where he has shown more consistency as a reliever. He throws a 90-94 mph fastball that's fairly straight, and his breaking ball is a plus pitch when he commands it. Though he won't go as high in the draft as he once figured and Rice players often return for their senior seasons, Pendleton still is considered fairly signable Other Info: Yankees will be using him as a pitcher, as they feel thats where he has most upside. Roster Link: http://www.riceowls.com/sports/baseb...?PLAYER_ID=561 Stats Link: http://www.riceowls.com/sports/baseb...30&SEASON=2005 ========================================== 5th Round (#169) (LHP) Zachary Kroenke - University Of Nebraska [4/21/84] Height: 6'3 / Weight: 210 2005 Stats: 15 GS - 89 IP - 73 H - 25 BB - 83 SO - 2.61 ERA Scouting Report: Tall, ML pitchers frame. Sloping shoulders. Strong thighs and legs. FB runs from 88-90 mph. Commands both sides of the plate. Strikes out hitters. Slider w/ tight, sharp rotation is his out pitch. BA sez: Kroenke has tighter stuff, with a heavy 88-93 mph fastball and a 78-82 mph slider. Scouts don't like his pie-throwing arm-action, which costs him command and consistency. Other Info: Two time All-Big 12 selection Roster Link: http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.d...&Q_SEASON=2004 Stats Link: http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.d...&ATCLID=110017 ========================================== 6th Round (#199) (RHP) Douglas Fister - Fresno State [2/4/84] Height: 6'8 / Weight: 195 2005 Stats: 15 GS - 93.2 IP - 90 H - 27 BB - 77 SO - 4.32 ERA Scouting Report: Extra-large frame. Tall & thin. Long, lean muscles. Loose, clean arm action. Fluid w/ good extention. 87-89 w/ downplane, late run & sink. Circle change w/ FB arm speed, fade & sink. Keeps hitters off balance w/ four-pitch mix. BA sez: #100 in CA - Fresno State junior RHP Doug Fister (100) started at first base on Fridays and Saturdays and took the mound on Sundays in most Western Athletic Conference series this year. Though his velocity was normally 88-91 mph, he has a ways to go to fill out his 6-foot-8, 195-pound frame, and scouts believe he will add velocity as he puts on another 20-30 pounds. Other Info: Plenty of room to fill out. Pure projection pick Roster Link: http://gobulldogs.collegesports.com/...er_doug00.html Stats Link: http://gobulldogs.collegesports.com/.../teamcume.html ========================================== 7th Round (#229) (LHP) Garrett Patterson - University Of Oklahoma [5/11/82] Height: 6'2 / Weight: 222 2005 Stats: 17 G (9 GS) - 62.2 IP - 42 H - 42 BB - 73 SO - 3.59 ERA Scouting Report: Large frame. Broad shoulders. Thick body, legs. Similar to Denny Neagle. Power southpaw. Loose arm. FB velocity consistently above avg., occasional better w/ riding life. CB rotation tight at times, 3/4 downer break. Physically mature. BA sez: [he] is finally healthy after battling elbow problems at Kansas State, Grayson County Community College and Oklahoma. He has come back from two surgeries to touch 95 mph this spring. Patterson, who usually pitches at 89-92 mph, also has added depth to his curveball and uses a cutter. He has held opponents to a .192 average and zero homers this spring. A club willing to overlook Patterson's medical history and age (23) could take him around the 10th round. A rare fifth-year junior, he can be a draft-and-follow. Other Info:Unhittable at times but with control issues. Roster Link: http://www.soonersports.com/ViewArti...&Q_SEASON=2004 Stats Link: http://www.soonersports.com/ViewArti...D=300#TEAM.MLB ========================================== 8th Round (#259) (CF) Austin Jackson - Ryan HS (Denton, TX) [2/1/87] Height: 6'1 / Weight: 185 2005 Stats: .348 AVG - 4 HR - 7 SB 2004 Stats: .402 AVG - 5 HR - 14 SB Scouting Report: Tall frame. Well proportioned, lean body. Athletic ability in CF like Tori Hunter. Long, arcing power swing w/ full extension. Adequate arm strength. Makes accurate throws. Loose, flexible actions. Quickness. Athletic ability. BA sez: He has made that a moot point this spring by rarely showing full effort on the diamond, and it's possible he won't even get drafted. Scouts don't view him as an underachiever so much as making a tacit decision to focus on basketball. When he plays hard, Jackson shows five-tool potential. He has basestealing speed but isn't a burner, as well as gap power, similar to a late-career version of Marquis Grissom. PG sez: #17 on Top 1,000 list - Austin Jackson is a lean athletic 6'2/180 OF from Denton, TX, outstanding defense, very graceful, strong arm, 6.56 in the 60, good bat speed and hand/eye coordination, athletically compares to tori hunter, power potential, highest level college and draft prospect, AFLAC All American PG Scouting Video: http://www.perfectgame.org/VIDEOS/04...tinJackson.wmv Other Info: (LATEST NEWS) Says he will sign with the Yankees ========================================== 9th Round (#289) (LF) James Cooper - Loyola Marymount University [2/18/84] Height: 6'6 / Weight: 230 2005 Stats: 196 AB - .342/.387/.451 - 8/10 BB/K - 6 SB Scouting Report: None. Other Info: Who the ................ is this guy? Roster Link: http://lmulions.collegesports.com/sp...r_james00.html Stats Link: http://lmulions.collegesports.com/sp...tiveStats.html ========================================== 10th Round (#319) (3B) Kyle Anson - Texas State [4/21/83] Height: 6'0 / Weight: 204 2005 Stats: 220 AB - .353/.465/.514 - 41/24 BB/K - 6 SB Scouting Report: None. BA sez: #87 prospect in Texas Other Info: Being converted to Catcher. Roster Link: http://txstatebobcats.collegesports....on_kyle00.html Stats Link: http://txstatebobcats.collegesports..../teamcume.html ========================================== 11th Round (#349) (RHP) Alan Horne - University Of Florida [1/5/83] Height: 6'4 / Weight: 195 2005 Stats: 16 GS - 95.2 IP - 106 H - 42 BB - 89 SO - 4.05 ERA Scouting Report: Tall, lean, wiry build, like Kris Benson. FB mostly 88-89 mph w/ slight sink down in zone. Loose out front, w/ whip-like arm action. Uses cut FB as a slider, quick, late, sharp break, best pitch. Around the strike zone, keeps ball down. BA sez: #111 top prospect in draft class - If Horne wants to play pro ball, the time is now. He’s lived a baseball lifetime since he played with Angels prospect Jeff Mathis back in high school. Horne was a first-round pick in 2001 but didn’t sign with the Indians, attending Mississippi instead. After a solid freshman year, Horne hurt his elbow early in his sophomore year and had Tommy John surgery, taking a medical redshirt. He then transferred in December 2003 to Chipola (Fla.) Junior College, where his father had played and where he had known the coach, Jeff Johnson, since he was young. Johnson helped Horne develop a cut fastball that he could throw consistently for strikes, a pitch he honed at Florida after he transferred. Horne turned down six-figure offers from the Angels to go to Florida and was throwing better and better as the spring progressed, sitting in the 88-93 mph range with his fastball. He’s also learned to compete better and has improved his approach to pitching. Still, Horne doesn’t pound the strike zone and can run up high pitch counts, making him more of a back-of-the-rotation starter. Other Info: Had TJ Surgery after turning down a 1st round draft out of high school. Still recovering, a bit of a project but a high ceiling. Roster Link: http://www.gatorzone.com/baseball/bi...bio=horne.html Stats Link: http://www.gatorzone.com/baseball/stats.php#TEAM.MLB ========================================== 12th Round (#379) (C) Joseph Muich - Wichita State University [8/18/82] Height: 6'1 / Weight: 205 2005 Stats: .297/.388/.493 - 26/35 BB/K - 5 SB Scouting Report: None. BA sez: #21 Prospect in Kansas. Best Catcher & Catcher's Arm in the Missouri Valley Conference in 2005 Other Info: Senior, likely will sign. Roster Link: http://www.goshockers.com/sports/ros...BaseballRoster Stats Link: http://webs.wichita.edu/gs/baseball/teamcume05.htm ========================================== 13th Round (#409) (1B) Karl Amonite - Auburn University [4/14/82] Height: 6'5 / Weight: 230 2005 Stats: 208 AB - .365/.469/.654 - 41/35 BB/K - 0 SB Scouting Report: Built like John Olerud w/ nice approach at plate. Chance to hit for some power. Ball jumps off bat. Fifth year senior looking for chance in pro ball. BA sez: #17 in Alabama - He lacks athleticism and his bat speed is just fair, but he’s strong and should hit in the middle of a minor league lineup. As a Canadian, he benefited from a recent change to visa rules that should allow him to start his pro career this summer. Other Info: Another Ben Jones? Short batting stroke who hits to all fields. Potential to hit for power. Works both ends of the double play well. Hard-nosed player. Good, confident attitude. Other Info:Put up great numbers despite fighting testicular cancer. Likely to sign as he is a senior. Roster Link: http://ucsbgauchos.collegesports.com...c_chris00.html Stats Link: http://ucsbgauchos.collegesports.com...tiveStats.html ========================================== 17th Round (#529) (RHP) Keaton Everitt - University Of Washington [2/4/83] Height: 6'7 / Weight: 220 2005 Stats:[/b] 12 G - 26 IP - 26 H - 13 BB - 19 SO - 3.46 ERA Scouting Report: None. Evenly proportioned. Similar build to Jeff Kent. Bat speed, turns on good FB. Mostly level cut. Drives ball into gaps. Good foot speed for catcher. Solid baseball instincts. Handles staff well. Leader by example. Good athlete w/ INF & OF experience. BA sez: #20 prospect in NY Other Info: Senior and local kid (Hometown: Brooklyn, NY), likely to sign. Roster Link: http://redstormsports.collegesports....rke_joe00.html Stats Link: http://redstormsports.collegesports..../teamcume.html ========================================== 19th Round (#589) (RHP) Jim Conroy - University Of Illinois: Champaign [11/4/82] Height: 6'4 / Weight: 195 2005 Stats: 14 GS - 93 IP - 89 H - 17 BB - 63 SO - 3.10 ERA Scouting Report: Tall, rangy, athletic body. Maintains arm speed. Throw's strikes w/ FB & changeup. Enough FB, life and potential. Plus changeup. BA sez: #13 prospect in IL - [he] was a 25th-round pick by the Athletics last year, but elbow problems shut him down for the summer. He hasn't missed a start this spring, showing an 88-92 mph fastball and a plus changeup. Other Info: Senior, likely to sign. Roster Link: http://fightingillini.collegesports....y_jimmy01.html Stats Link: http://fightingillini.collegesports....tiveStats.html ========================================== 20th Round (#619) (LHP) Bryan Rueger - Southern Illinois University [2/22/83] Height: 6'4 / Weight: 185 2005 Stats: 17 GS - 124.1 IP - 121 H - 31 BB - 77 SO - 3.18 ERA Scouting Report: None. Other Info: More likely to sign, but could be D&F. Roster Link: http://www2.mdc.edu/athletics/docs/B...L%20ROSTER.pdf Stats Link: http://www.njcaa.org ========================================== 22nd Round (#679) (RHP) Michael Lee - Skyline HS (Issaquah, WA) [11/18/86] Height: 6'5 / Weight: 190 2005 Stats: (incomplete) 1.70 ERA - 8-2 - 52/14 K/BB PG sez: Lee is a tall lanky junior right hander from Washington State. He has good athletic actions for a big young man and is very projectable for gaining strength and velocity over the next few years. He throws from a slow, deliberate, on-line delivery with a high ¾’s release point and little effort or tension. Lee closes his hips off well and uses his whole body smoothly. His fastball was very steady in the 80-82 mph range with good late sinking action. Lee’s curveball was 66-68 with some sweeping action and he also threw a 64 mph change up. He showed us a mature ability to throw strikes with all 3 pitches and work hitters. Lee is going to be a very good college pitcher at the least when he adds some more strength and who knows from there. He’s a prospect to keep a very close eye on. Possible huge sleeper here! Wallach has excelled at throwing out runners and handling pitchers. His swing is similar to his fathers’s, though from the left side. Other Info: A lefty catcher! BA sez:#21 prospect in IL - (from 2004 draft preview) Puente's injuries forced 1B/C Brad Canada behind the plate, but his best position is the batter's box. After batting .238 as a sophomore, he hit .368 with gap power and more walks (27) than strikeouts (21). Sabathia, mostly because of his physique but also because of his potential to be a big, dominant lefthander. Caldwell threw 81-82 mph in high school and weighed 280 pounds when he enrolled in junior college. He dropped 40 pounds and his velocity improved by 8-10 mph, with the possibility of more. Stronger than appears. Similar to Craig Biggio. Puts ball in play, uses whole field to hit. Alert fielder, quick. Scrapper, overachiever. Makes things happen. BA sez:#141 prospect in CA - Rated best defensive 2B in the Big West - [Turner] has the potential to be a shortstop at the professional level, even though he’s spent his college career with the Titans almost exclusively at second. He is also rated as the 107th best player in the nation according to Perfect Game USA’s Top 200 high school prospects. He is right-hand pitcher at Clay-Chalkville High School for coach Jeff Mauldin. Styes best season to date came as a sophomore in 2003, where he posted a 13-1 record and 0.71 ERA on the mound. He also added 111 strikeouts. For his efforts, Josh was named to the 2003 Birmingham News Super All-State Team and the Birmingham News Class 6A All-State team. He was also a Super All-State selection by the Alabama Sports Writer’s Association and an ASWA Class 6A All-State pick. Styes led Clay-Chalkville to the 2003 Class 6A state championship. In game one of the best of three series against Baker High School of Mobile, Styes tossed a complete-game, two-hit shutout and struck out 12 batters in the 3-2. For his efforts, he was named the MVP of the Class 6A state playoffs. Clay-Chalkville finished its state championship season with a 37-5 record. As a junior, he led Clay-Chalkville to the Class 6A state playoffs for the second straight year. After wins over Wenonah (10-1) and Spain Park (5-2), Clay Chalkville dropped two of three games to Oak Mountain in the quarterfinals. BA sez: (from 2004 draft preview) Drafted in 2002 by the Yankees out of Cypress (Calif.) JC, he touched 93 mph with his fastball last summer, when he finished second in the Cape Cod League in strikeouts. He didn't show that velocity this spring, pitching in the 88-90 range. His slider was better last summer and his command has been inconsistent as well. He had trouble getting his arm loose early in the season and had pitched better down the stretch. Other Info: Did not pitch this year due to undergoing Tommy John. Could be a sleeper. Was a Cape Cod League All-Star summer of 2004. Was drafted by the Yankees in 2002 out of Cypress College, but he chose to go to Wake Forest. Was drafted again in 2004 by Colorado, but once again did not sign. Roster Link: http://wakeforestsports.collegesport..._justin00.html ========================================== 45th Round (#1362) (1B) Brett Pill - Cal State Fullerton [9/9/84] Height: 6'4 / Weight: 190 2005 Stats: 247 AB - .324/.384/.482 - 19/46 BB/K - 4 SB Scouting Report: BA sez:#80 prospect in CA - has an impressive bat. He stays inside the ball well and takes good at-bats, but he doesn’t project enough power yet in his thin 6-foot-4 frame. He has a high price tag, but it’s unlikely a team will spend what’s necessary to but him out of two more years with the Titans. Other Info: Sounds like a tough sign. BA sez: #4 Prospect in NE - He was throwing 90-93 mph fastballs and his curveball and changeup were working well when he got hurt in February. His stuff wasn't as crisp after a two-month layoff, as he returned throwing 87-90 mph and eschewing his breaking ball, but he did turn in seven shutout innings in his lone Missouri Valley Conference start. A club likely will draft him and then monitor him during the summer before deciding whether to sign him. Other Info: May not be completely healthy as he's missed time this season with a strained elbow ligament. Similar to Andruw Jones. Live bat and power to all fields. Good fielding instincts. Excellent makeup. Tools to be a frontline Major League OF. BA sez: #20 Prospect in CA - Fon, who also goes by the name of Diallo Achu, has an interesting background in that his parents divorced when he was two, and his father moved back to Africa. He keeps in contact with him by e-mail. Fon’s style and approach remind scouts of Twins outfielder Jacque Jones. He has similar tools, a similar batting stroke and similarly good power for a player with a slight build. On the 20-80 scouting scale, Fon’s power grades as a 45 now and 60 down the road. The ball jumps off his bat and he has a history of hitting with wood as a longtime member of the Norcal youth travel team, one of the nation’s best youth programs. Fon is a slightly below-average runner with a slightly below-average arm, but he compensates for those shortcomings by getting good jumps in center field and having sound baserunning instincts. Fon’s mother would like for him to honor his college commitment to Vanderbilt, but he reportedly wants to sign—especially if he’s picked in the first three or four rounds, as expected. PG sez: #65 on Top 1,000 list - Diallo Fon is a solid athleticly built 6'0/190 OF from Suison, CA, top defensive outfielder, sweet swing, good bat speed, top level hitter, has great instincts, one of the nations top HS players, highest level prospect, good student, AFLAC All American. 83 MPH from OF PG Scouting Video: http://www.perfectgame.org/VIDEOS/04tro/DialloFon.wmv Other Info: Raw lefty power. Tough sign because of Vanderbilt. (from the 2004 AFLAC All-American Baseball's site) Diallo Fon is not new to the spotlight. As a sophomore he helped lead his team to their first North Coast Section 2A East Bay Championship. This season Diallo has continued to step up his game. He hit .357 on the season, with 22 hits, four homeruns, 12 stolen bases and 12 RBI's. In helping Las Lomas to an 11-9 record, Diallo scored 18 runs with a .500 on base percentage and a .625 slugging percentage. He has also put in some good time on the mound, pitching in 30 innings for Las Lomas, striking out 33 and maintaining a 2.57 ERA to earn a First Team All-League selection. As a sophomore, Diallo led his Las Lomas team to the 2003 NCS Championship and earned Second Team All-League honors. When not on the field Diallo enjoys playing golf and tennis. ========================================== 50th Round (#1501) (C) Blake Heym - Grayson County College [1/4/85] Height: 6'2 / Weight: 195 2005 Stats: 93 AB - .312 AVG - 2 HR - 0 SB Scouting Report: None. BA sez: "Heym spent his freshman year as a red shirt at Auburn, but decided to transfer in order to get more playing time" Other Info: ""He's a guy with some thunder in his bat," Grayson coach Tim Tadlock said. "He can hit. He's a lefty-hitting catcher with an average-to-Major League arm. He's a very intelligent kid with an aptitude to learn how to catch, call a game and all that. He's the best 50th-round pick I've seen in a while. And he's been drafted one time more than a lot of other people. If I were him, I'd sign right now."" Re: Complete Draft Summary (lots of images)
I'll add some more notes-
12th rounder Joe Muich- 4 year starter at Wichita State- took out just under 50% of basestealers last year. 13th rounder Karl Amonite- he's the only Canadian the Yanks drafted this year (no, ironically, 25th rounder Brad Canada is not from Canada). Heis big, but doens't produce the numbers his size says he should. 17th rounder Keaton Everett is actually a junior, but he just graduated from U Washington (shows he's smart anyway), and the UWash website indicates he wasn't planning on returning anyway. 27th rounder Josh Morgan was actually an All-Conference (granted, very small low level conference) OF, but the Yanks say he's a pitcher... 33rd rounder RHP Mike Miotkowski pitched at an NAIA school- threw several no-hitters in his career, and won the NAIA championship game for Oklahoma City U. 34th rounder 1B Felipe Garcia- was a big part of their college WS run last year, but is really and all or nthing type. Will be a senior sign. 38th rounder Clayton Young has some control issues- while he really racks up the K's, he also has issues with walks and WP. Still, he is a LHP... 41st rounder Josh Styes has a scholarship with U Alabama, and was a top target of U Alabama. Likely to be a hard sign, if the Yanks even make an effort. |

Re: Complete Draft Summary (lots of images)
Some short tidbits from John Sickels about the Yankee draft...
http://www.baseballdigestdaily.com/s...?ArticleID=151 BDD: How did the Yankees do in replenishing their depleted farm system? JS: Well, they took a risk with C.J. Henry. His upside is huge but he will need time to develop and won’t make an immediate impact. I like J.Brent Cox a lot, and they picked up some solid, conservative, non-spectacular but reasonable picks in the later rounds. BDD: Which players do you think were the biggest bargains of day? JS: Cox is a possible bargain even in the second round. |

Re: Complete Draft Summary (lots of images)
New York Yankees: We usually don't associate the New York Yankees with good drafts, but this year is the exception. One player that I didn't write about the past two days that I was very impressed with in my research was C.J. Henry. The Yankees first pick was the athlete of the first round, and one that will begin his career at shortstop with the power and speed tools already in the bag. If handled correctly, Henry has the potential to be the best player of the draft, period. But after that the team went safer, choosing college players (mostly pitchers) from rounds 2-7. Brent Cox should move quickly through the system, and Zack Kroenke will bring quite a bit of polish to Tampa. The team then gambled in the eighth round with Austin Jackson, who would be the equivalent of a first round selection if the Yanks can pry him from playing basketball at Georgia Tech.

Re: Complete Draft Summary (lots of images)
The priorities that should be given to signing risks (not including D&Fs):
1) Austin Jackson (appears to be done) 2) Alan Horne (likely to get done) 3) Brett Summers 4) Josh Styes 5) Brett Pill 6) Doug Fister 7) Diallo Fon I consider Lee a D&F along w/ Caldwell and Priesendorfer (sp?). |
