The Official Oakland Raider analysis thread

With Moss on board, Porter signed long term and Jordon just about a Raider, the offense is looking better. Special teams is a strong unit but the defense needs lots of work. I also expect Charles Woodson to be traded very soon for players and or picks.

As for Jordon, does anyone know if he is much of a pass catcher out of the backfield?

Excellent job by the Raiders, getting Jordan. As far as him catching balls ot of the backfield, I don't remember him ever dropping one. But since we never gave him much of an oppurtunity, it's hard to say.

Yeah, I really have no idea. Jordan is a great RB with a combo of both speed and power. I think he's going to be a 1500 yard type RB.

1500??? I don't know about that.

He's never been a feature back and has never logged #1 RB carries over the course of a 16-game season. His value is purely speculative.

JMHO

BTW Who was it that declared via a thread, that the NFL is over?

Running backs like Lamont Jordan don't come around too often. He's fast, quick, agile, powerful and he has excellent vision. He would have done everything Curtis did and possibly more if given the oppurtunity.

Exactly. Which is why I begged awhile back for the permanency of the NFL subforum.

Nevertheless... really. An "Official Oakland Raider analysis thread"?

The Raiders need to revamp their defense in order to gain respectability. It might take Al Davis 2 to 3 years for the Raiders to get back into the playoffs.

Their offense is solid as long as Randy Moss stays out of trouble, Kerry Collins doesn't force the ball, and draft J.J. Arrington.

Why would they draft J.J. Arrington if they're paying LaMont Jordan starter money?

I thought since the Jets and Pats have a thread why not! Maybe you can do a Cowboy one...you can call it "will the real Drew please stand up."..

After getting Jordon I don't see a RB at least early on draft day...the D needs lots of help...

The Raiders offense is going to be unstoppable, but from here on out Raiders fans will hear again and again that the S+B does not have enough defense...and they don't. Napoleon Harris was your best defensive player, aside from Woodson.

I don't think Al is done and the draft must be mostly D. Harris really didn't pan out as expected...

Raiders play Jets and Pats this year...should be fun...

Do you guys have that much space under the cap? I'm not a Raider hater, but that D needs serious work.

Raiders are know for being one of the better teams at CAP management...Moss will restructure, Collins already did, Gannon did and might be released, Wheat was cut etc...

Let hop over to the Jets thread and I'll continue this with you.

Congrats to the Raiders fans- This isn't just a decent back you got. He'll be at least top ten in the league.
