I had no idea Vizquel was so unproductive with the bat.

Hopefully he only plays when Brown pitches and in the 9th inning of games we have the lead in. He shouldn't get more than 250 plate appearances.

Exactly. Runs Created Above Average is a stat invented and tracked by Lee Sinins, the author of the Sabermetric Baseball Encyclopedia. Lee calculates each player’s Runs Created, and then compares it to the league average, given that player’s number of plate appearances.

I have noticed that all of the players on that list are either short=stops or catchers, this season positions without huge production. We are not expecting Sanchez to compete with Tejada or Jeter in terms of offense, his defense is what concerns me most.

His purpose is to give Derek, Tony, and A-Rod a break occasionally, or take over when Derek dives into the stands. Every team needs a Fred Stanley.

Does this factor in defensive stats? If not and it was added, where would Sanchez stand? Do you know what Ozzie Smith's RCAA stats were? Just for purposes of comparison...

I agree. We don't need him to create runs(hopefully).
