Somehow you have the Yankees getting:
RJ, Pedro, Lieber, Milton and El Duque to add to the rotation. And Beltran. Also both Cairo and Polanco. And Kline. And we get rid of Brown. Plus Clemens retires so he won't bother us anymore. That is quite a wish list. (And what order is your list in, random?) |

Why would Billy Beane take a guy like Juan Gonzalez at this stage of his career?

Well, looks like your 0 for 1. Benitez is a proud member of the SF Giants. I'm sure Bonds and him will make quick friends. Unless, he demands a trade to NY...

Don't let these guys bother you, Coney1, I like your list. I'd prefer Pavano over Pedro simply because I don't like Pedro and feel Pavano has a better future. I think you can stick a fork in El Duque .... he's done. But you've got Tino coming back to us which is good. But other than that, if we were to get the major players in R.J., Pedro, Beltran, Kline, then ..... Wooooooooooo-Hooooooooooooo, I'll be glued to the set every single game.
By the way, no one mentions this much, but I fully enjoy the regular season with our powerhouse team coming back ..... what was it? 61 times? It was a great season, just a lousy ending. I don't know how many times we'd get behind 4-0 in the early going and I wouldn't even sweat it with the team we had. I knew we'd come back and usually did. With these additions, I fully expect to see us win #27. ![]() |
