Unless the players improve or they do a lotta shopping this winter, they really can't expect any manager to win with the Tigers. They're managers, not magicians.

Trammel could probably still make their 40-man roster.
Actually the Tigers are only 4 players short of contending--Ty Cobb, Hank Greenberg, Al Kaline, and Jack Morris. |

And he will probably be the Tigers former manager by the All Star Break. Hiring a former Tiger is not gonna fix their problems. I'm glad Willie Randolph didn't get stuck there -- he deserves better. Hope he gets a chance this year.
