Blue Jays Uniforms
When did they add that weird big red T and the cartoon Blue jay to the front of their Uni's and Hats??? They weren't wearing those in NY! How many uni's do they have?

I can't keep track anymore with all the alternate uniform garbage going on. Team after team has three (or more?) alternate uniforms - all a cheap marketing scam, such as the Mets tried with their softball unis.
The Yankees. One uniform totally unchanged since 1936, when they added the 'NY' on the jersey front. |

Marketing scam, Yes it is. And yes the Yankee uniform has not changed but they lowered themselves when they changed the jackets from the ![]() |

If the Yankees ever change their uniforms and logos, I will go on strike as a Pro-Yankee fan.

Slip: Not to nit pick, but there was another change that I think happened after 1936, but I'm not sure. It has to do with the way the number one is written. The older uniforms have the one which look like this: "l", whereas the new ones look like this: "1". A small change, but it would be nice if they would go back to the old "non serif" style. |

The "Yankees" in script on the jackets is really not knew. It's been around at least as early as the 1950's. The script style also patterns itself to the way "Yankees" is written on the team logo (with the bat and Uncle Sam hat). I like the jackets -- it's a nice contrast to the NY on the uniform jersey. I don't think the Yankees "lowered themselves" in any way -- how do you figure?? BTW, I got to thinking that the Yankees might be the only team in MLB who don't have the team name on either their home or away uniforms. Then I thought of Detroit -- I don't think they have "Tigers" on their unis either. But I think that's it -- are there any others?? |

Well I for one would like to see a return of the away jersey back to the '27-30 style with:
YANKEES across the front...It sort of has a POWER look to it...it seems to state : "We don't need the city name, you KNOW where we're from" |
