A couple observations from past draft threads

He's always liked em tall. He called it early, but back then he was more of a 4th-5th round pick who needed to be bought out of a big scholarship

Regarding Phil Hughes:

Regarding J.B Cox:

During this draft there was nonstop complaining about the Yankees not drafted Smoak or Matusz beginning around our 2nd pick and continuing onward. Meanwhile neither ended up signing with their respective drafting teams, and should be premium prospects in the next draft

2006:

I dont even need to go into how negative the reception was regarding Kennedy. There was some anticipation regarding Betances, but everyone cringed every time that the Yankees picked and he wasn't the choice (until the round came). The reality is that all of us here just reading/judging from our computers really have no clue how to judge when these guys are going to go. No matter how high their ceiling is, these scouting directors seem to have a good idea where they're gonna go.

McAllister is a high school arm, which I like. What in the world did the Yankees see in Curtis?

We can go on but the reality is that we won't know how this all turns out until the dust clears and we're into next season and Brackman is mowing down hitters in Tampa (hopefully )

I'll give you some fodder for 2010:

"I would have taken pretty much anyone but Brackman."- philleotardo

I hope he makes me look stupid.

Also keep in mind much of the excitement came from the 8th round on, with Jackson, Betances, Melancon among others. Do not fret

It's spelled Kulish, ace. If you're going to try and insult someone, at least spell their name right. And good job pointing out the one comment that was listed here.

Trust whomever you want. I'm entitled to my opinion.

Good job. The draft threads provide excellent comedy, but not much else. It's hilarious reading people get all bent out of shape about the MLB draft when it's such a crapshoot and you know their only knowledge of these players is through Google Fu.

Ouch. Man, I'm stupid. (Although I still would have preferred Pedro Beato.)

I'd love for someone to go back and find some POSITIVE comments about the 2002 draft.

These post draft comments confirm the reason why scouts work for MLB and people hacking away behind their computer do not.

Re: A couple observations from past draft threads

Last year's draft turned into a phenomenal draft.

2 Aces in Betances and Chamberlain
4 guys who can be 2-3 in the majors, Kontos, Norton, Mcallister, Kennedy
1 power reliever Melancon
3 good positional players Hilly, Curtis, Fortenberry

And whoever else I forgot
