Also, do you remember Fulham knocking Everton out of the 75 FA Cup in the 5th round? That was on our way to our one and only Wembley appearance - lost to West Ham 2-0 in the Final , which was a contender for the worst Cup Final in history.

Enough reminising and time to get some more zzzz.

I certainly remember both, Humph.

I think that "the moat", as we diehards used to call it, was designed to deter the hooligan element from straying on to the hallowed turf! Cut down on the capacity behind the goals, though, which did not go down well with the natives! I only ever strayed into the Park End (the opposite end to Gwladys Street) once during the whole of my "career" but the atmosphere down there was as weak as dishwater and best left to the opposition supporters.

Have a good day's sleep, old bean, and catch you again when time permits.

Look for Ruud to look eastward towards Bayern Munich:

According to one of today's "rags", Van Nistelrooy won't consider Real Madrid if Cristiano Ronaldo is also headed in that direction, hence the excellent chance that he may end up in Germany instead. Evidently, VN and the "step over kid" don't get on very well. How unusual!

Too right, old son!!! You can't always believe what you read, but it seems that all is not well at the "Theatre Of Dreams".

I see also from this morning's "rags" that the Italian match-fixing looks more and more likely to be proven, with the consequence that all of the top Milan and Juventus players are being earmarked for dispersal around Europe. I don't know how much truth there is in it, but there are rumours that Arsenal would be certainly be interested if Buffoon were to hit the market. Makes sense, I suppose, given that Lehmann must be about the same age as me!!

Ruud was asked to leave Man U before the last game of the season after he and Cristiano Ronaldo had a fight in training. I am no fan of Ronaldo, but I did feel sorry for him at the time. Apparently the fight started when Ruud made some very distasteful remarks about Ronaldo's recently deceased father.

I just read that bit on the Gunners picking up Buffon. That would be a coup for us.
