Re: The "TV shows that don't warrant their own thread" thread
While we are on the subject of funny sitcoms from the past...
Roz Chast is my favorite New Yorker cartoonist. I posted on FB the other day but not everyone (Jeanne) is on there.

Re: The "TV shows that don't warrant their own thread" thread
I tried watching Louie the past two years but it's just not funny to me. It's more cringy and I get frustrated watching it. The ones I remember is when he sees some guy get decapitated and one where he has the f-buddy offer from a mom at his kid's school. Funny premise, but so awkward and cringy to watch.
I love Louie's stand up though. I'll give it another shot.

I know that's the idea, but the few times I've seen Louie, the awkwardness just makes it hard to watch. Curb Your Enthusiasm however has the perfect balance of awkward, cringy, and hilarious.
I'll give Louie one more try, but even if I don't watch his show I will absolutely go see him on tour this fall.

Curb is way more awkward than Louie.

Anyone watch Girls on HBO? I watched the first 3 episodes the other day, liked it.

Re: The "TV shows that don't warrant their own thread" thread
I watched the first three episodes of the BBC series Sherlock over the past few days and thought they were great. Unfortunately, Netflix doesn't have season 2 yet, so I can't see any more. However, I discovered (I must have been living under a rock) that a subscription to HBO (which we have) also includes free sign-up for HBO Go, which will allow me to watch a whole bunch of former HBO shows that I've always wanted to see but haven't had the chance to yet (Oz, Deadwood, The Sopranos, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, etc.)

Re: The "TV shows that don't warrant their own thread" thread
Yep. That's probably going to be the second show I get to. I'm working my way through Oz right now (5 episodes in.) It doesn't have the atmosphere I thought it had (at least yet), but there's definitely no shortage of interesting characters and dynamics in the prison. I always find it amazing when a show can create literally a dozen or more compelling characters in only a few episodes while other shows struggle to even create one.
