Re: Another team's prospects thread
More on Fernando Martinez:
Fernando Martinez was back in Double-A Binghamton's lineup Monday after being pulled from Sunday's game for not hustling.
Martinez was "not running as hard to first base," according to Mets VP of player development Tony Bernazard. The 18-year-old went 0-for-3 on Monday and is now batting .214 for Binghamton.

I know this is still early in the season, but this is not what you expect from 1st rounder with high heat fastball.
Kennedy is looking very solid thoughMarge Simpson: The plant called and said if you don't
come in tomorrow, don't bother coming in Monday.

Re: Another team's prospects thread
The 16 walks in less than 11 innings is the one stat that suprised me. I thought he had much better control.

the knock on him was control.

Re: Another team's prospects thread
Maybin i already a great hitter and is going to be a superstar, one of my favorite prospects. Does anyone have a reasonable ETA for him?

Has anyone checked out the sick stats on Tim Lincecum?
God he's awesome

Re: Another team's prospects thread
He also pitched 6 IP with 3 H and 14K's

Re: Another team's prospects thread
Now that Hughesīs in the majors, Lincecum has clearly become the best pitching prospect in the minors right now.

hughes' polish and resume might be better than lincecum, but you gotta think lincecum's stuff is better than hughes' especially when you look at the #s

No doubt, Timīs pure stuff is head and shoulders above Philīs.

Re: Another team's prospects thread
I would never project anyone to dominate like Pedro, but if I were to, I would pick Linecum to be that guy. There are still some concerns longterm about him due to his size and delivery of course, but his stuff is just amazing.
Also, this isn't just because of his mediocre results thus far, but I'm really not a big fan of Andrew Miller. I don't like his mechanics and I haven't seen the great stuff he has.

Re: Another team's prospects thread
To think we could have our very own Linecum if freaking Christian Garcia would get his act together. Oh well still hope for Dellin.
btw whose stuff is better? Dellin's or Garcia's? I knew it was Garcia before but dont know much about Dellin

Re: Another team's prospects thread
I think Dellin's stuff is better. That 6'9" frame gives him a huge advantage. And it looks like Dellin's work ethic is better.

Man I was so high on Garcia too. I remember BA saying he has some of the best stuff in all the minors. I watched him a few times and that fastball had amazing life and that curve was just sickening

What about their secondary pitches? Curve and Change?

Not sure Linecum has a change but Hughes isn't that great right now

Re: Another team's prospects thread
When he pitched against Toronto, it looks like he made huge strides on his changeup. I'm not saying its a plus pitch yet, but it looked good.

Re: Another team's prospects thread
The problem with rating Hughes' change is that he just started using it this year and hes' used it in a total of 4 Live games. Too soon to tell. Sometimes it looks good but other times who knows. I hope he still develops it even while in the majors
