Powerplant and Neigbor to the North Complete Deal
The players travelling 12 miles will be:
to the Red Apples:
AJ Burnett
Khalil Greene
Aaron Heilman
Dioner Navarro
to the Powerplant:
Miguel Tejada
Jason Isringhausen
Joe Nathan
Mike Piazza
A pure keepers-for-non-keepers deal
Here's to you, Mr. Robinson. Jesus loves you more than you Cano.

Re: Powerplant and Neigbor to the North Complete Deal
Greene's not a keeper -- not in the 4th round.
Burnett would be an 8th rounder.
Heilman an 18th rounder (but is a set-up man a keeper?)
Navarro would be a 12th rounder (but do you spend a keeper on a C?)
Tejada is unkeepable
Isringhausen is a 2nd round keeper (Unlikely)
Nathan is unkeepable
Piazza is an 8th round keeper (Unlikely)
So I see one keeper in the bunch -- Burnett.

Re: Powerplant and Neigbor to the North Complete Deal
Heilman will be in the rotation next year, which makes him a good keeper.
Greene can be a keeper as well.
Just because you may not want to keep someone at that position doesn't make them not a keeper.

Heilman might return to the rotation next year...there's no way anyone can say that he will. If he does, is he anything more than a #5 starter?

Flanders, can't you make any 1 for 1 or 2 for 1 deals? Why do you have to always complicate things with 7, 8 and 9 player deals? Then you complain that they get rejected.

Re: Powerplant and Neigbor to the North Complete Deal
Lame. You all had a shot at Tejada, Nathan and Izzy and offered me junk for them. Yeah I said it, JUNK.
Screw it, I guess I'll keep them, trade for some non-keepers and skew the playoff push instead.

Why do you guys keep voting things down without posting here with some sort of reasoning?

Re: Powerplant and Neigbor to the North Complete Deal
First of all Flanders, the rule was made this way so that trade objections wouldn't escalate into full blown mud slinging events. Secondly, if 8 or more people object, you really should ask yourself if the deal was actually fair in the first place. You seem to get along with everyone in here so it is not like people are rejecting it on purpose because you are a jerk or something.

Re: Powerplant and Neigbor to the North Complete Deal
I think they are rejecting it because they fear the Plant. Anyway, it's in the commish's hands now, and going by past precedent and reasons for overturning, I'm still fairly confident it will go through.

Actually come to think of it, I had a trade at last year's deadline voted down as well, and the fun part is, half the people thought it was biased one way and half the people the other.

Re: Powerplant and Neigbor to the North Complete Deal
....because this trade was ridiculously unfair. There I said it. I manned up to it - or Cowboyed up to it - I rarely vote against trades in this league but with this one and the Squeak/Wolvie deal I chose to. Regardless, I voted against it as the keepers you were getting couldn't wipe the asses of the guys you were giving up.

This one does nothing for you Rob except land you Burnett with a bunch of other guys thrown in to make it look pretty. You are parting with your entire bullpen and the best SS in the league and a sweet assed C for a good SP (with injury problems in the past), a questionable RP, an average SS and a below average C.
I apologize for going off like this but don't start dissing everyone's judgement in here if 8 or more people can find fault with this deal. I have worked on a ton of deals with many of the GM's here and can tell you that the people in here don't operate like that. You guys should be working on a counter offer in case this one doesn't go through.2011 NYYFans.com Fantasy Baseball : Miko's Marauders

Re: Powerplant and Neigbor to the North Complete Deal
On another note - it is not the proper way to go about things by posting people's trade offers in here - you could lose some respect from your fellow GM's and you could also find it hard to trade with people in the future.

No different from MLB teams putting in a waiver claim on a player simply so he can't be traded to another team.

I just got home from work. Due to the fact that the deadline is so close and I don't want the teams involved to have to hang in limbo, I'm not going to analyze this for days, sleep on it, and then write a thesus on it like the last trade that came my way. Translation: I'll have a decision shortly
