The Mets were 0 for 19 with RISP in the 20 inning loss.

Let's give them their due, they were facing a very tough Marlins team.

You're right. With yesterday's win, the Marlins matched the '72 Miami Dolphins' win total.

Here's a visual representation of how many times the Mets came to bat and subsequently failed with RISP:

I cant imagine sitting thru that fiasco yesterday. I'm taking my dad to the Mets game next Sunday for Fathers Day (dad is a Mets fan lol), and I hope the game isnt anywhere near that boring. If it is....well at least I can probably kill 3 innings or so waiting on line for Shake Shack.

You could have done that six times on Saturday and still been able to catch the last two innings.

    hahahahahaha

I actually got this from the movie "The Rock" with Sean Connery and Nicholas Cage.
Always thought it was funny, and use it all the time..

But I have heard he shoots lightning bolts from his butthole.. (another movie reference, Braveheart!)

I have no idea why the Yanks didn't try to win any of those games. The Mets/Marlins games are at least among equals. Mets/Yanks not so much.

Who other than the Mets would lose a death match by 2-1 to a team trying to avoid its 45th loss in early June?

I also have no idea why a team in a huge market and with a good payroll, routinely finishes below .500. Only the Braves & Nats are >.500 from the NL East.

The Mets players bet their whole season on the Yankees series. They could lose to every single NL team, but if they beat the Yanks, their fans now have a false sense of accomplishment.

The Yanks try winning all the other games. Kind of like a trade … one I'd take any day.

The Yanks aren't in the Mets' league & division, so the obsession with beating the Yanks seems wasteful.

… and a 2-out, 2-run single to right hit by the Cubs pitcher in the 4th. Pitcher goes to 3B by legging it out, sliding under David Wright's leg.

    Does it get any better?

I think that you would have to admit that these Mets make it intersting with all these inning games that they play. They may surprise fans by the end of the season by making it to five hundred!
