I have a source telling me that the Yankees won with 27 million. He is reliable but I still have some doubts as that seems a little low.

I have a feeling Jon Heyman will be the 1st one to break the D-Mat news.

Rosenthal is very very good, however, Heyman is the best when it comes to stuff involving the Yankees and Mets. He broke the RJ deal, the Delgado deal, the Wagner deal, and the Beltran deal. Those are all just from recent memory.....

I heard that the Mets bid was frozen, Selig opened every other envelope before the cold one, and simply substituted the number on the Mets letterhead with one that was $500,000 more than the highest bid.

Not to be confused with the other Ewing theory, whereas Matsuzaka's club will win the Japanese World Series next year.

The major-league commissioner's office, which opened the bidding last Thursday, informed the Japanese commissioner's office of the amount of the highest bid but not the club that made the offer. The team and the amount will be revealed only if the Lions accept the offer.

Well that sucks. The only we are going to know now is if there is a leak from within the MLB office.

I believe the Padres originally won Nomo's rights but traded them away.
