Re: Congratulations Joe: 1,000 Wins as Yankee Manager
He's likely to become the third winningest manager in Yankee history. Hopefully this season, because the next mark he has to pass is 1,067!

Congrats to Joe, they will miss you when you are gone.
What we can appreciate now is that the Yankees from 1996-2003 were even more extraordinary than we thought.

Congratulations Mr. Torre!

A truly great manager and, more importantly, a truly humble man.
27 and 28, Joe. You can do it...starting this year.

I think Torre would say that it's a testimony to the talent he has had the opportunity to manage in NY, and he would be right.

Many managers have had talented teams on paper, and haven't done squat.

The Dodgers (Brooklyn variant as well) have been classic underperformers for many years. They have certainly had a lot more talent than they have had success.

Re: Congratulations Joe: 1,000 Wins as Yankee Manager
After all the Billy Martin hirings and firings and the rest of the managerial circus before 1996, Joe has been great to have as the Skipper. Thanks, Joe and I'm looking forward to the next 1000!
