    Where is that Tiger offense?

Chicago already has a 5˝-game lead in the division over the Tigers, who have the worst record in the majors at 2-10. The White Sox have outscored Detroit 46-12 this season, despite the Tigers adding slugging third baseman Miguel Cabrera to an already loaded lineup.

"Where we're at makes sense because that's the way we've played," Leyland said. "It's not surprising that we're 2-10. We've been shut out four times. ... I didn't think we'd get shut out four times all year, to be honest with you."

They're offense will rebound, it's not as good as the idiots predict it is, but it should most likely be good.

the pitching is a different story though.

What's up with Gabe Kapler? he has 4 dinger already so far and been on abosalute fire, including dingers off Johan Santana and Oliver Perez. this is a 32 year old that retired after his age 30 season and should be a body building coach more than a baseball player

To be taken with a massive grain of salt:

Friend of mine is in the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic and is working in the same village that Vlad Guerrero's family is from. According to her (and she knows next to nothing about baseball) according to them, he wants to retire after this season.

Just saw that myself. Apparently it's a minor-league deal for "not a lot of money."

Japan baseball team hits 66 runs in two inning

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080417/...ll_japan_score
The hapless hurler had already sent down over 250 pitches, allowing 26 runs in the first inning and 40 in the second before Kawamoto asked for mercy.
"At that pace the pitcher would have thrown around 500 pitches in four innings," Kawamoto's coach was quoted as saying. "There was a danger he could get injured."

Frank Thomas angry about getting benched for Fatt Stairs:
    http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slu...v=ap&type=lgns

TORONTO (AP)—Blue Jays designated hitter Frank Thomas was livid Saturday after getting benched in favor of Matt Stairs and being told by manager John Gibbons he can expect further cuts to his playing time.
Thomas did not shake hands with his teammates following Toronto’s 3-2 victory over Detroit on Saturday and left the clubhouse without speaking to reporters.
“I’m angry, I know I can help this team. My career isn’t going to end like this,” he said before the game.
