That's a pretty good deal for the Redbirds.

Now, Mike Matheny has flexibility in the lineup with three switch-hitters: Carlos Beltran (if and when he's healthy), Rafael Furcal and Lance Berkman.

Then, throw in Adam Wainwright back in the rotation with Chris Carpenter, Jaime Garcia, Jake Westbrook and Kyle Lohse, that's a good rotation.

I won't be surprised if the Cardinals become the first team other than the Yankees to win 2+ straight world titles if they repeat in 2012.

Oakland designated Jai Miller. It seems he's as good as any OF option the Yankees currently have at the AAA level.

    what's his defense like?

I'm not really forming a potential picture based on any of his numbers.

Video of Rangers catcher Yorvit Torrealba striking/slapping/pushing (I don't know how you'd classify it it) a HP ump in the Venezuelan League.

Why is he even arguing with the umpire? He struck out swinging.

I would guess there was a pitch earlier in the at-bat that he didn't like.

Jai Miller? He played CF at Sacramento. 32 HRs last year at AAA, seem like an odd time to DFA him when it looked like he'd compete for a starting OF spot next year.

I like Keith's writing a lot, though I know that many fans don't care for him.

Read his tweet from a couple of days ago. He does not love the Sox he even made fun of Red Sox fans and said now that Reddick was traded he will not longer be over-rated.

He certainly did which is why I hope he takes that front office job. He talks a good game, let him do the job and be a part of turning around a franchise.

The White Sox lost - basically, they gave away Quentin for nothing - but I'm not sure what the Padres won. Now, instead of being a really terrible baseball team, they're a really terrible baseball team with Carlos Quentin for one year.

They win if they can trade him for a useful prospect in July.
