No - I know they wouldn't be (assuming they're ripping off signs).
But what good is the risk of stealing signs if it's only gonna put your team at one game over .500?
Wouldn't it be better to sink your energies into something that will help you contend?
Just my 2 cents worth.Welcome to NYYFans, the place where Yankees fans come together to complain about the manner in which our team is winning games.

Re: Interesting Baseball News Items That Do Not Warrant Their Own Thread
Yanks got name-dropped a lot in that article. I wonder if it was a Yankee that Bautista had that "conversation" with?

Re: Interesting Baseball News Items That Do Not Warrant Their Own Thread
I think the article clearly states that it was a Yankee pitcher who called out Batista.
Why does a catcher with a .200 BA have his own Twitter page???

Re: Interesting Baseball News Items That Do Not Warrant Their Own Thread
If making racist and homophobic remarks makes you unsignable, then nobody on my former high school's baseball team would be eligible and I'm sure the majority of posters on this board would fall under that category as well. That said, I don't know exactly what the guy posted.
EDIT: Just read the tweets. If that's all he said, I see 10x worse stuff on my facebook feed everyday.

Re: Interesting Baseball News Items That Do Not Warrant Their Own Thread
Edited my post probably just as you were posting this. The stuff he posted is, unfortunately, the way a large amount of today's teenagers talk. Obviously it's stupid that he posted that stuff in a place as public as twitter but if the Nationals are seriously not signing him because of that, it's just silly.
As for #1, contrary to popular belief, I actually think the average poster here is smarter than the average human, but I still wouldn't be shocked if a large number of posters make similar comments to the ones that kid did (especially our younger posters) when they're not having to speak within the guidelines of this forum.

Because people are smart enough to know that if they do that it's an automatic ban. Obviously people don't talk like that on here but it wouldn't shock me if a number of them did off the site.
Look, I'm not defending the kid's stupidity. I'm just saying that he's probably not a racist, or at least any more racist than the average person.

Re: Interesting Baseball News Items That Do Not Warrant Their Own Thread
Forget .200 hitters in the majors. Why does an unsigned college baseball player no one has heard of have a Twitter page? Who cares what this nobody has the say. Maybe I just don't get Twitter but I thought you had to be someone to be followed by more than your family and friends.
I have several FB friends who treat their status updates like they are being followed with a fanbase and it's so annoying. I've blocked a few of them from showing up on my news feed.

Re: Interesting Baseball News Items That Do Not Warrant Their Own Thread
There's nothing to "get" about it. Twitter is just another social network. You either like it or you don't & everyone has a different opinion of what "be somebody" means.
I'm more interested in what the nobody who runs the fake Hank Steinbrenner account has to say than what some dunce like Snooki has to say.

Re: Interesting Baseball News Items That Do Not Warrant Their Own Thread
yeah, those comments don't read as racist really at all, actually, besides maybe the first bit about rapping/stepping. the n-comments are clearly dialectal. being racist isn't about using some key words. lol @ outing his teacher on twitter, though.
lack of judgment, indeed, but a lot of kids get on facebook/twitter and say all kinds of things that would put them in legal trouble or are just awkward. raised as they have been in a more digital world, they're pretty oblivious about the repercussions.like delv, but better
