Styles has been horrid since that one Tuesday PPV. Just miserable. Between the overselling of the ................ty openers, the bickering with Coach, and "My buddy Mickles!" he comes off as as big a dork as Cole.

I don't see him as coming off as a dork as much as I see him coming off as a guy trying too hard. Something JR was always good at was exaggerating things that happened and made it sound believable (Ex:"Oh my gawd! Michaels has just fallen 50 feet from the top of the cell and he's broken in half!"). Styles on the other hand always has the same screaming pitch that just screams for acting lessons. He was never believable to me, though I love his energy during a good match.

Ross: GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY! STOP THE MATCH!! STOP THE DAMN MATCH!! DAMMIT, DAMMIT, DAMMIT!! THATS ENOUGH! HE'S ALREADY BEEN BEATEN LIKE A GOVERNMENT MULE!

I'm glad to see that will be returning. Though I wont be able to listen to Ross at WM since I'll be there, its great to have him back on the mic.

BTW, does anyone still want to go to WM? If you have 750.00 big ones, you can go to ticketmaster and get you some ringside seats. Seats are still available. If your a high roller, you can afford to drop a few bucks on the event. Hey, you even get to keep the chair. Goody.

If done right, this storyline could have finished off at WM, instead we waste Edge on Foley. I like Foley, but there's no way Foley is going over Edge and knowing that spoils the match.

Right. Originally I said it was John that I met but apparently it was Joe. I was flipping through the channels Friday night and saw "Smackdown" and there he was. Can't miss that hairdoo! So I jumped on the site and found out who he was. I looked before when I posted originally but couldn't find him but this is the guy:

    http://www.wwe.com/superstars/smackd...warrioranimal/

It was funny watching the show because I had just seen a handfull of them on Monday. We shared a cab from the airport and he got dropped off first at the Forum. He had the driver take him to the receiving dock (below the forum) to be dropped off and he was pointing out all the 18 wheelers, motorhomes and pointing out who the various "stars" were that were mingling around.

The ironic thing about my 1/2 hour with the guy is that he didn't really say much about the wrestling really till we got to the Forum. We talked about his son for the most part. His son is a linebacker for Ohio State and filled in last year as a freshman. VERY proud dad!

I caught most of it and I wasn't too impressed either. The highlights for me were Eddie's induction (especially his wife's and Chavo's speeches) and Austin saying he found a can of whoop ass with Hogan's name on it in response to the fans who were chanting their names.

I was dissapointed in it too. I wish they could have shown the speeches in their entirety, and not rushed through it so much. It had the potential to be one of the most special nights in wrestling history, between Eddie being inducted and Bret returning, but they wrecked it. What else is new?

Why did Austin induct Bret? Why wasn't it someone from the Hart family, or someone like Benoit? It would have been nice to see an actual induction speech instead of just "Hey, heres one quick story, and heres Bret."

Unfortunately, most of the biggest names in Bret's family have passed away. I think Austin was chosen because Bret really helped make him a superstar and the WWE wanted him on the show.

    Wrestlemania 22 Results via PWInsider.com - Part 1

Welcome to our coverage of Wrestlemania 22!

The PPV opened with Howard Finkel introducing Michelle Williams to sing "America, The Beautiful". As she sang, they showed footage of wrestlers visiting with the troops overseas. A video package of classic Wrestlemania moments was then shown, leading into a video highlighting the feature matches on tonight's show.

Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler are at ringside for the Raw matches, and Michael Cole & Tazz are at ringside for the Smackdown matches. Hugo Savinovich & Carlos Cabrera are handling the Spanish broadcast. Lilian Garcia is doing ring announcing for the Raw brand, Tony Chimmel for Smackdown.

World Tag Team Champions Kane & Big Show vs. Carlito & Chris Masters.

Kane and Masters started off, with Kane actually dropkicking Masters. Show headbutted Masters from the apron, then tagged in and chopped him in a corner. Show headbutted Masters to the mat, then slammed him and stepped on his chest. Masters poked him in the eyes and tagged Carlito. Carlito hesitated before getting in the ring, then tried an armwringer. Show just stared at Carlito, then lifted him by the arm and dropped him crotch first on the top rope. Show shook the ropes, sending Carlito to the mat, then booted Masters as he tried to run in. Masters rolled to the floor, and Big Show press slammed Carlito over the top rope and onto Masters. Kane went to the top rope, then dove on Masters and Carlito on the floor.

Big Show grabbed Carlito by the hair, pulled him onto the apron, then into the ring. Carlito dropkicked Show's leg, sending him head first into an exposed turnbuckle (Carlito had pulled it off earlier). Carlito and Masters gave Show a flapjack. They went for a double suplex, but Show blocked it and suplexed both of them. Kane tagged in and backdropped Carlito, then slammed Masters. Kane pounded Carlito in a corner, then clotheslined Masters. Carlito booted a charging Kane, but Kane came right back with a side slam. Kane went to the top rope, badly missed a clothesline on Masters, and Chris Masters applied the Masterlock. Big Show kicked Masters in the head to break it up. Big Show gave Masters Snake Eyes, while Carlito gave Kane the double-knee backbreaker.

Big Show went to chokeslam Carlito, but Masters chopblocked his leg. Show rolled to the floor. Kane sat up in the ring, and Masters & Carlito tried to go after him, but Kane fought them off. Kane went for a chokeslam on Carlito, but Masters came off the top rope. Kane moved, and Masters hit Carlito by mistake. Kane booted Masters out of the ring, and chokeslammed Carlito for the pin at the seven minute mark.

    Winners: Big Show & Kane.

After Show & Kane left, Masters and Carlito argued, with fans chanting for Carlito, but they didn't do more than argue.

Jonathan Coachman interviewed Shawn Michaels. Michaels said he doesn't regret telling Vince that he needs to "let go" of the past. Michaels said that unlike past Wrestlemanias, he wouldn't be having a "classic match" tonight. Michaels said that tonight would be violent, and he would take Vince into his own "personal hell".

    Wrestlemania 22 Results via PWInsider.com - Part 2

Money In The Bank Ladder Match - Matt Hardy vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Fit Finlay vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Ric Flair.

Both announce teams are working this match, and several ladders were set up in the aisle. There was a sign in the crowd that said "Can we get Flair an escalator?"

Lashley started decking everyone at the start, and gave Finlay a clothesline in the corner, then press slammed Flair. Benjamin stopped Lashley's momentum with a kick, while Hardy was already in the aisle getting a ladder, which Van Dam kicked into Hardy with a baseball slide. RVD then hit a pescado onto Hardy, who was still holding the ladder. Finlay went for a chair in the ring, but Benjamin hit him twice with a ladder. Shelton set up the ladder on the ropes, then ran up it like a ramp and ran up it, jumping off onto RVD, Hardy and Lashley. Finlay set up a ladder in the ring, but Flair clipped him from behind. Flair started to climb the ladder, but the ladder was to far away from the briefcase. Hardy climbed up the other side of the ladder and superplexed Flair off it. Flair hit the mat hard, yelled about his leg, and the referees called out the trainers. Flair was favoring his leg, and the trainers started walking him up the aisle and into the back.

In the ring, RVD slammed Benjamin on the ladder, then went for Rolling Thunder, but Benjamin moved and RVD crashed on it. Lashley set up a ladder and climbed up. Benjamin climbed the other side, poked Lashley in the eyes and went for sunset flip powerbomb. Benjamin couldn't get Lashley off the ladder, so Hardy and Finlay helped pull Lashley down. Finlay and Benjamin went at it in a corner, and Finlay rammed Benjamin into a ladder. Hardy went after Finlay, but Finlay flung a ladder at Hardy. Finlay hit Lashley and RVD with ladders as well, clearing the ring. Finlay started setting up a ladder, when Ric Flair came limping back down the aisle. Finlay went out of the ring and started exchanging shots with Flair. Flair got the better of it, got back into the ring, and went for the ladder, but Hardy and Benjamin stopped him.

Flair chopped and punched Benjamin out of the ring, and Hardy down to the mat. Flair climbed the ladder, and got his hand on the briefcase, but Finlay climbed up the other side and hit him with the shillelagh in the head. Flair fell to the mat. The briefcase was now swinging in the air. Benjamin climbed the ladder and went at it with Finlay, but Lashley hit the ladder with another ladder, knocked them both to the mat. Finlay rolled out of the ring, and Lashley gave Benjamin the Dominator. Lashley started to climb the ladder, but RVD hit a dropkick off the ropes with a chair to knock him down. Matt Hardy set up a ladder in the corner, climbed halfway up, and legdropped Lashley.

Hardy set up a ladder in the ring, climbed up, and started to grab the briefcase, but Finlay climbed up and started going at it with him. Hardy gave Finlay the Side Effect off the ladder. RVD climbed up the ladder in the corner, stood on top of it, and splashed Finlay. There was a huge "ECW" chant. RVD set up a ladder in the middle and started to climb up. Shelton Benjamin did a springboard off the top rope, landed on the ladder (which was amazing) and started going at it with RVD. As they exchanged punches, Hardy set up a second ladder next to them and climbed up. Hardy, RVD and Benjamin exchanged punches atop the two ladders. RVD knocked over one of the ladders, and Hardy & Benjamin went down with it, falling out of the ring. RVD stood atop his ladder and unhooked the briefcase to win at the fourteen minute mark.

    Winner: Rob Van Dam.

Josh Mathews interviewed Hall Of Famer Mean Gene Okerlund, who joked that he ran up a bar tab last night that would "knock you out". Randy Orton interrupted, questioning Okerlund going into the Hall Of Fame for holding a microphone. Okerlund delivered his trademark "Give me a break" and walked off. Orton began to boast about winning the World Title tonight, when he was interrupted by Batista, who was wearing a suit. Batista reminded Orton that whoever wins the title is just holding it for him, and that he was "feeling pretty good". Batista said by Wrestlemania 23, he would be holding the belt again.

Howard Finkel announced that "Bret "Hitman" Hart (pause) ... was uncomfortable being at this event" and then introduced the other members of the 2006 Hall Of Fame. Each came out, accompanied by a Diva (except Sherri Martel, who was escorted by Ted DiBiase). Last out was Vicki Guerrero, escorted by Chavo Guerrero. The crowd broke into a huge "Eddie" chant. The Blackjacks raised Vicki's arms to a huge pop, and Sherri Martel hugged her. The fans applauded all of the Hall Of Famers.

    Wrestlemania 22 Results PWInsider.com - Part 3

U.S. Champion Chris Benoit vs. JBL, with Jillian Hall.

The entrance ramp actually lifted up, so JBL's limo could drive out to ringside. JBL trash talked before the bell. They locked up at the bell and began trading punches. JBL applied a headlock, and the fans were chanting "Let's Go Benoit". JBL hit a shoulderblock, but Benoit gave him a drop toe hold and went for the Crossface, but JBL blocked it. Benoit headbutted JBL in the back of the head repeatedly and kept trying for the hold. JBL made the ropes, tripped Benoit and applied a headlock, but Benoit slid out and went after the leg of JBL, then pounded him across the back of the head. Benoit hit a knee to the gut, then chopped JBL in a corner. Benoit whipped JBL across the ring, then ran into a boot to the face. Benoit came back with a armdrag and went for the Sharpshooter, but JBL kicked it off and rolled to ringside. Benoit went after him, and JBL hid behind Jillian, then reached around her to poke Benoit in the eyes.

JBL rolled Benoit into the ring and pounded him across the back. Benoit fired off a chop, but JBL kicked him in the face and punched and stomped Benoit. JBL whipped Benoit across the ring, missed a charge, and Benoit hit three consecutive German suplexes. Benoit called for the flying headbutt and went to the top rope. JBL crawled to the ropes and shook them to crotch Benoit. JBL mocked the old Eddie Guerrero dance, then went to superplex Benoit. Benoit tried to fight it off, but JBL hit the superplex. JBL crawled onto Benoit for the cover and got a two count. JBL did the dance again, then started to do the Three Amigos, drawing boos from the crowd. JBL hit two vertical suplexes, but Benoit hit a series of knees to the gut to break it up. Benoit went into the ropes, but JBL hit him with a boot to the face, then drove a forearm into his back.

JBL applied a rear chinlock with a nerve hold, and Benoit slowly fought to his feet and hit a back suplex. Both men were on the mat, and slowly got to their feet. Benoit hit the Three Amigos vertical suplexes, then went to the top rope and hit the diving headbutt for a two count. Benoit missed a charge in the corner, but grabbed JBL for a German suplex. JBL grabbed the referee, then the ropes, trying to block the German suplex. The referee made them break on the ropes. JBL went for the Clothesline From Hell, but Benoit grabbed it, and drove JBL to the mat and applied the Crippler Crossface. JBL rolled over in the hold, putting Benoit's shoulders to the mat, and grabbed the ropes for leverage for the three count at the eleven minute mark.

Winner and new U.S. Champion: JBL.

Jerry Lawler speculated to Jim Ross that he was only brought back because Vince McMahon wants him to call the "demise" of Shawn Michaels. They then plugged Peter Gabriel's new Greatest Hits CD, which has "Big Time" (the Wrestlemania theme) on it.

A video package on the events leading to Mick Foley vs. Edge was shown. Joey Styles joined Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler. Ross put over Styles as the "voice of ECW", saying he knows a lot about Hardcore matches, and that he "deserves to be here" and that he would be calling this match with Lawler.

Mick Foley vs. Edge (with Lita) in a Hardcore Match.

Both men wore street clothes to the ring, and Edge had a baseball bat with him. Edge missed with two swings of the bat, and Foley hit a facecrusher and hung Edge in a Tree Of Woe. There was a "Foley" chant and he delivered an elbow to Edge in the corner. Edge battled back, hitting Foley with a forearm to the face. Lita threw in a metal cookie sheet, which Edge used to clock Foley several times. Edge cracked Foley with a street sign, then measured Foley for a spear. Edge hit the spear, but collapsed on the mat in pain. Foley took off his outer shirt, revealing a Cactus Jack T-Shirt ... and the fact that he was wrapped in barbed wire.

Foley pulled out wire cutters and untangled the wire from his body, then began using it on Edge, who was bleeding from the arm. Foley tied Edge in the ropes, then went under the ring steps and pulled out a baseball bat wrapped in bared wire. Lita got in the ring and jumped on Foley's back. However, Foley gave Edge the Cactus Clothesline, with Lita on his back, to Edge, and all three went over the ropes and to the floor. Foley let out a "Bang! Bang!" and covered Edge for a two count. Foley hit a neckbreaker on the floor for another two. Foley pounded Edge against the ring steps, then went to charge him, but Edge hiptossed Foley into the steps. They brawled on the floor, and Edge whipped Foley into the steps, with Foley catching both knees on the steps and flipping over them.

Edge rolled Foley into the ring and grabbed a chair. Foley tried to roll out of the ring, and Edge hit him with a baseball slide kick, sending him to the floor. Edge pulled out a table, set it up on the floor, and put Foley on it. Edge went to the top rope, but Foley rolled off the table. Edge came back down, fought Foley up the aisle, and threw him down so the back of Foley's head bounced off the steel rampway. Edge tossed Foley back into the ring, and Lita handed him lighter fluid. Edge squirted lighter fluid all over Foley, but Foley fought back with a series of punches and hit him with a piledriver for a two count. Foley hit Edge with a cookie sheet, then picked up a chair. Lita tried to run in, but Foley chased her off. The distraction allowed Edge to get up and hit Foley with a DDT for a two count.

Edge picked up the barbed wire bat and hit Foley in the gut, back and face with it. Foley was busted open, and Edge drove the barbed wire bat into his forehead. Edge bulldogged Foley into the barbed wire bat for a two count. Edge pulled apart the ring steps, where a bag and a set of brass knucks were. Edge picked up the bag, got in the ring, and dumped the contents, thumbtacks all over the mat in one corner of the ring. Edge grabbed Foley, but Foley reversed and gave Edge a back suplex into the thumbtacks. Edge, who had removed his shirt earlier, had tacks sticking out of his back. Foley pulled out Mr. Socko, then wrapped it in barbed wire. Foley put the barbed wire Mandible Claw on Edge, then when Lita ran in, he put it on Lita. Lita rolled out of the ring, her lip bleeding. Foley picked up the barbed wire bat and hit Edge with it several times, punctuating it by driving the bat into the head of a downed Edge. Both men were bloody at this point. Foley grinded the bat into Edge's head, then noticed the table still at ringside.

Foley picked up the lighter fluid, went to the ring apron, and squirted it all over the table. Lita grabbed the barbed wire bat and hit Foley in the knee with it. Then Lita started squirting fluid on the table, then lit it. The table went up in flames, and Edge hit a spear through the ropes, driving Foley off the apron and through the flaming table. Styles let out an old ECW-style "Oh My God!". Edge covered Foley on the floor for the three count at the fifteen minute mark.

    Winner: Edge.

They showed multiple replays of the spear through the flaming table. As Foley left ringside, there was a "Foley" chant, which he acknowledged.

Re: The Official WWE and TNA thread

    Wrestlemania 22 Results via PWInsider.com - Part 5

Backstage, Sharmell asked Booker T why the "freaks" were always hanging around them. Booker said he wasn't a "freak magnet". They walked down the hallway, encountering Pirate Paul Burchill, "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and Eugene (Eugene was trying to dribble a basketball a hundred times, but DiBiase kicked it away so he wouldn't have to pay him, like the old days) and Fabulous Moolah, Mae Young & Gene Snitsky (Snitsky was licking Mae's feet). Goldust, wearing a wig and a dress (he's Oprahdust), told Booker that they were all freaks, then suggested Booker take Boogeyman's worms tonight and "put them (whispered in Booker's ear)". Booker said "Tell me you didn't say that". As Booker and Sharmell walked off in disgust, Snitsky said "That wasn't my fault" and DiBiase gave his old laugh (which got a big pop).

We were introduced to the Snickers contest winners, and Michelle Williams and Joe Theisman was shown at ringside. A Backlash promo was then shown.

Booker T & Sharmell vs. The Boogeyman.

Booker and Sharmell acted terrified as they walked to the ring. Both acted scared, with Booker holding Sharmell in front of him, as Boogeyman made his entrance. Booker had Sharmell start the match with Boogeyman, then Booker hit him from behind as they circled the ring. Booker quickly tagged in and stomped Boogeyman. Boogeyman choked Booker, and as Sharmell distracted the referee, Booker hit a low kick. Booker delivered a superkick, but Boogeyman kicked out at two. Booker choked Boogeyman against the bottom rope. A "boring" chant began.

Booker hit Boogeyman with some shots to the back, but Boogeyman caught a kick. Boogey went for a clothesline, but Booker caught it and delivered the Bookend for a two count. They traded punches, with Boogey getting the better of it. Boogey sort of missed a kick, then Booker missed an ax kick, and Boogey casually threw Booker between the ropes and into the ringpost. Boogeyman pulled out some worms and put them in his mouth. Sharmell picked up Boogeyman's staff and went to hit him with it, but Boogeyman turned and gave her a kiss with the mouthful of worms. Sharmell ran off screaming. Booker charged Boogey, but Boogey dodged him and hit a two-handed chokeslam for the pin at the four minute mark.

    Winner: Boogeyman.

Women's Champion Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James.

Mickie was smiling at Trish as she came to the ring, with the referee having to seperate them, as Trish wanted to go right at her. They locked up, and Mickie went for a waistlock, but Trish knocked her around with elbows and punches, then delivered a Thesz press and pounded her. Trish stomped Mickie down in a corner, lifted her up by her hair, and chopped her. Mickie went for a kick, but Trish shoved her down to the mat in a split position. Trish kept up the assault, knocking Mickie to the floor. Trish went for a kick on the floor, but Mickie moved and Trish kicked the ringpost. Mickie put Trish in the ring, pulled her bad leg out and whipped it into the ringpost.

Back in the ring, they exchanged forearms, but Mickie dropkicked Trish's bad leg, then corkscrewed it. There was actually a "Let's Go Mickie" chant. Mickie wrapped Trish's leg around the middle rope and yanked on it. Trish tried to kick Mickie away with her good leg, but James stayed on her, ramming the bad leg into the mat. Mickie applied a single leg crab, then yanked on Trish's hair with her free arm. Mickie stomped the leg and rammed it into the mat again. Mickie hung Trish's leg across the second rope and stomped it. Mickie soaked in some of the cheers from the crowd. Mickie applied a leglock, but Trish broke out with a twirling headscissors. This crowd is booing Trish and cheering for Mickie. Jim Ross noted that they are a "defiant" crowd tonight, and speculated that we hadn't seen anything yet.

Trish hit a series of punches and a pair of clotheslines, then a spinebuster. Trish went for a splash in the corner, but Mickie booted her. Mickie went to the top rope, and Trish tried to grab her with a headscissors, but Mickie grabbed Trish's leg and jumped off the top rope to the floor, driving her leg across the top rope. Mickie got back in the ring for a two count. Mickie went for the leg again, but Trish kicked her away. Mickie went for a rana, but Trish gave her a powerbomb. Mickie went after the leg again, but Trish punched her down. Trish went for a Stratusfaction bulldog, but Mickie grabbed her crotch to break it up. Trish was stunned, and Mickie licked her fingers. Trish decked Mickie with a right hand. Trish went after Mickie, but Mickie kicked her bad leg out and as Trish fell to the mat, Mickie kneed her in the mouth. Mickie grabbed a side headlock and went for a Stratusfaction, but it got all tangled in the ropes. Mickie shoved Trish to the mat, then hit a weak Chick Kick for the clean pin at the nine minute mark.

Winner and new Women's Champion: Mickie James.

Backstage, Vince McMahon was getting pumped for his match, with Linda, Shane and Stephanie. Vince had them all get on their knees for, a first for the McMahons, a prayer. Vince said "God, I don't like you and you don't like me" at the start, and that God never intended a 60 year old man to look as good as him. Vince said that tonight he would destroy "God's favorite wrestler", Shawn Michaels.

    Wrestlemania 22 Results via PWInsider.com - Part 7

The casket was wheeled to ringside by the druids, as the history between Mark Henry and The Undertaker was shown.

Mark Henry vs. The Undertaker - Casket Match.

Henry attacked Undertaker before the bell and pounded him in a corner with punches. Henry kicked and punched him, then whipped him across the ring, but ran into a boot to the face. Taker hit two clotheslines, but Henry didn't go down. Taker went for a third, but Henry took Undertaker down with one of his own. Henry choked the Undertaker on the mat, then straddled him on the middle rope, sliding to the floor. Taker fell to the outside, and Henry went to ram him into the ring steps, but Taker blocked it and rammed Henry into the steps, but he blocked it and rammed Taker into them. Henry rolled Undertaker into the ring and choked him. There was an "Undertaker" chant, and Taker fought back with punches and kicks.

Undertaker went for the Old School rope walk, but Henry stopped him and elbowed him to the mat. Henry kicked him in the gut, then called for the casket to be opened. Taker wasn't ready to go in yet, and Henry whipped him across the ring, but ran into an Undertaker boot. Taker went to work on the arm, then went for Old School, this time hitting the forearm off the ropes. Henry still hadn't fallen down. Undertaker went for a faceplant, but Henry blocked it and shoved him to the mat. A "Henry sucks" chant rang out. Henry went for the straddle on the ropes again, but Taker moved and Henry slipped through the ropes and into the casket. Henry pulled Taker in and the two of them fought in the casket, exchanging punches. Taker choked Henry, and punched him, and both men got back into the ring.

Taker hit some punches, but Henry powerslammed him. Henry went for a pin, then realized there are no pinfalls in a casket match. Henry kicked Taker into the casket, but Taker stood up in it and pulled Henry throat first across the top rope. Taker got back in the ring and headbutted Henry, which actually staggered Taker. Henry hit a clothesline, then punched Taker in the corner. Henry got on the second rope to punch Taker, and Undertaker pulled him out of the corner with a powerbomb to a pop. Taker threw Henry from the ring, and he bounced off the lid of the casket, which was closed. Taker dove out of the ring, over the top rope and over the casket, and hit Henry with a tope. Taker threw Henry into the ring, scooped him over his shoulder, and held Henry for a while before giving him a tombstone piledriver. Undertaker rolled Henry into the casket and closed the lid at the nine minute mark.

    Winner: The Undertaker.

The casket was wheeled out of the ring, and Undertaker made his exit.

A commercial for the Divas Lingerie magazine and DVD was shown.

We saw a history package for the Vince McMahon vs. Shawn Michaels match, featuring a whole slew of classic "Mr. McMahon screwing people" moments and highlights from HBK's career.

Vince McMahon vs. Shawn Michaels - No Holds Barred.

Jim Ross noted that he knew the reason Vince McMahon brought him back was so he could call "Mr. McMahon taking Shawn Michaels to hell". Michaels entered the ring first, then McMahon, who posed as he came out. McMahon unveiled a huge mock-up of his cover of Muscle & Fitness at ringside. Michaels attacked Vince at ringside, and pounded him near the announce tables. Michaels choked him with a wire and hit him with the ring bell hammer. There was a "We Want Bret" chant. Michaels took the framed mock-up of the magazine cover and bashed it over Vince's head in the ring.

The Spirit Squad ran out and overwhelmed Michaels, pounding him down. They threw him in the air and he crashed to the mat. For whatever reason, the Squad decided to check on Vince and then go after Michaels one at a time, and Michaels took them all down with shots from their own megaphone. Michaels flung one of them over the top rope on top of the rest, who were at ringside. However, this allowed Vince, who has a cut over his right eye, to nail Michaels with a clothesline. Vince choked Michaels in a corner. Some people were starting a "Steroids" chant. Vince took off his belt and whipped Shawn Michaels with it. McMahon choked Michaels with it, and there was an "HBK" chant. Michaels fought up, and hit a chop, but McMahon clotheslined him with the belt. McMahon then mocked Michaels' stomping in the corner and went for a superkick. Shawn caught it, nailed Vince with a punch, and delivered some chops.

Michaels hit a flying forearm and did a kip-up. Michaels grabbed the belt and whipped McMahon with it across the back. Shawn whipped Vince in the chest, then slammed him and delivered the top rope elbowdrop. A "You screwed Bret" chant briefly rang out, but stopped as Michaels started stomping for the superkick. Shane McMahon came out from under the ring, and hit Shawn with a kendo stick. Shane then pulled out some handcuffs. Vince started taking his pants off. Shane grabbed Shawn and pulled him near Vince's rear end, but Shawn hit an elbow and rammed Shane's face into Vince's rear end. Shawn hit Vince with a low blow, then clotheslined Shane from the ring. Shawn handcuffed Shane to the bottom rope. Shane pulled out the key, but Shawn grabbed it from him and threw it into the crowd. Shane said "I'm sorry", but Shawn blasted him with the kendo stick several times, mocking Shane's shuffle dance.

Shawn Michaels got back into the ring, bringing along a chair. Shawn blasted Vince in the head with a chairshot, and Vince was bleeding from the forehead as he got up. Shawn got ready to superkick Vince, but then had second thoughts. Michaels went to ringside and pulled out a ladder. Shawn rammed Vince in the head with the ladder, then propped it up in a corner. Vince had blood just running out of his head. Shawn set up for the superkick, but stopped himself again. Shawn went under the ring and got two trash cans, which he tossed into the ring, then put a table in the ring as well. Shane, still cuffed at ringside, yelled "Come on Dad!" but as Vince got up in the ring, Shawn blasted him with one of the trash cans. Michaels set up the table in the ring. Shawn placed Vince on the table, then climbed up the ladder in the corner. Shawn climbed the ladder, then climbed back down (to boos) and threw the ladder out of the ring. Michaels went to ringside, punched Shane, then pulled out a much taller ladder. MUCH taller.

Michaels pulled Vince off the table, punched him a few times, then put the trash can over Vince's head and upper body, and put him back on the table. JR noted that Shawn was "becoming what Vince wanted him to become". Shawn climbed up the ladder, gave a few old DX crotch chops, then jumped off, putting Vince through the table with an elbowdrop. They were already wheeling a stretcher to ringside. Michaels kicked the doctor away from ringside. Ross said Michaels had "snapped". Shane begged Shawn to stop, and Shawn gave him a DX chop and blew snot at him. The fans chanted "DX". Michaels lifted Vince to his feet and said "I want you to see this, I am going to knock your teeth down your throat". Michaels then nailed Vince with a superkick for the pin at the eighteen minute mark.

    Winner: Shawn Michaels.

Vince was placed on the stretcher and wheeled out as Michaels celebrated in the ring. As Vince was wheeled out, Vince lifted one arm and stuck out his middle finger. Michaels, in the ring, smiled. Michaels soaked in the cheers of the fans for a long time, and even ran over to the aisle and kissed his wife.

They announced that Wrestlemania 23 would be held in Detroit, Michigan next year at Ford's Field on April 1, 2007.

World Champion Kurt Angle vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton.

P.O.D. performed Mysterio's entrance music live. Mysterio came out with a very elaborate costume and headdress. Orton came out next, then Kurt Angle, who had a huge pyrotechnic display for his entrance.

Orton grabbed the belt before the bell and hit Angle with it, knocking him to the floor. The bell then rang as Orton and Mysterio exchanged punches. Mysterio went for a bodypress, but Orton dropkicked him for a two count. Angle went for a German suplex on Orton, but Orton blocked it with an elbow. Mysterio went for a bodyscissors, Orton blocked it, but Angle grabbed Orton and gave both of them a German suplex. Orton came back with a side neckbreaker on Angle, but Angle gave him a belly to belly suplex and put him in a corner. Mysterio went after Angle, ramming Angle's head into Orton's crotch. Mysterio booted Angle, but Angle threw Rey into Orton and Mysterio gave Orton a top rope rana. Angle threw Rey out of the ring and covered Orton for a two count. There was a "Let's Go Angle" chant as Angle gave Orton a vertical suplex for two. Angle went for an anklelock on Orton, but Rey ran in and Angle clotheslined him for a two count.

Angle went for a sunset flip on Rey, but Mysterio rolled through it and kicked Angle in the face. There were boos for Mysterio, although some were chanting 619. Rey set up for a 619, but Angle caught it and applied the ankle lock. Orton tried to come in with a chair, and the referee stopped him. Mysterio tapped, but the ref didn't see it. Angle knocked Orton off the apron, went back to the ankle lock on Rey, but Orton got in to break it up. Angle gave Orton a German suplex, then gave one to Mysterio, flipping him. Angle gave Orton another German suplex. Angle threw Rey out of the ring with an Angle Slam, then put Orton in an ankle lock. Mysterio distracted the referee as Orton was tapping out. Angle knocked Mysterio off the apron, then went back to the ankle lock, but Mysterio broke it up with a springboard legdrop. Mysterio got a two count on Angle.

Mysterio leapfrogged Angle, but Angle threw him shoulder first into the ringpost. Angle went for an Angle Slam on Orton, but Orton slipped out and hit an RKO for a very close two count. Orton was favoring his ankle from the ankle lock earlier. There was a "Let's Go Angle" chant as Orton climbed to the top rope. Angle ran the ropes and hit a belly to belly superplex. Rey tried to hit a 619 around the ringpost as Angle was near the ropes, but slipped off. Rey hit a kick to the head, then a springboard senton in the ring followed by a bridge for a two count. Orton kicked Angle from the ring, then focused his attention on Mysterio, putting him in an over-the-shoulder backbreaker then dropping into a neckbreaker. Orton measured Mysterio for the RKO, but Angle ran in and gave Orton the Angle Slam for a two count.

Angle then grabbed Rey for an Angle Slam, but Rey turned it into an armdrag and Angle fell out of the ring. Orton was crawling up the ropes, and Rey gave him the 619. Rey then gave Orton a springboard rana for the pin at the nine minute mark. While the crowd was booing Rey for a large portion of the match, they did pop for the win.

Winner and new World Heavyweight Champion: Rey Myserio.

As Mysterio walked onto the stage, Chavo Guerrero and Vicki Guerrero hugged him. Rey dropped to his knees, crying.
