I am starting to get into "The Simpsons" again
I have not watched "The Simpsons" in years. Literally about 10 years, maybe even more.
But my brother, who is a pretty big fan of them, told me to watch them because they are very funny.
So he recently gave me some DVDs of their older episodes - I believe season's 3 through 6 - and I find myself laughing my ass off while I watch them.
I find this show way funnier than I remember it. Perhaps it's because I am older now and 'get' the humor a bit more.
Anyway, this show at it's peak was damn good.

This show at it's peak was awesome. I still love watching the re-runs.
It hasn't been the same in recent years, but it will always be one of my fav. shows ever.

Re: I am starting to get into "The Simpsons" again
It depends on the person. In comparison to like Seasons 3-8, I could see why someone considers the latest seasons to be really bad. I haven't seen much at all of the newer/more recent eppys though. Although that's b/c they just aren't as good.

Re: I am starting to get into "The Simpsons" again
I think overall The Simpsons have been the best TV show of all time. It touched on many aspects of life and was always able to make me laugh. The Simpsons have always been funny to me....I dont know too much about the recent shows cause I am too busy to watch them, but whenever I have gotten a chance to see a recent one I found it funny. I am 23 years old, and when i watched some old episodes I finally got some of the humor. I love it!
Hoping Rivera can pitch forever!

The Simpsons is the greatest TV show ever
Up until season 6 there is no comparison. Season 7-9 are less than stellar.
Since then it's been uphill though

Again? I have always loved watching it, and try to whenever I can.

I still even like the new ones. They aren't that bad. Just bad compared to the old Simpsons episodes, but thats still very good overall.
Crush it with your mind vice.

Re: I am starting to get into "The Simpsons" again
I never stopped watching. I love the old ones and the new ones. The new ones are more like Family Guy(the plot doesn't make any sense).
btw Anyone seen the episode(from like a couple of years back) when Homer and the whole family goes to jail? That one was hilarious.

Yeah, I like The Simpsons - old and new. Anyone notice the difference in animation between some of the recent seasons and the very early seasons? It's bizarre.

A little Simpsons trivia:
What does the "J" in Homer J. Simpson stand for?

Re: I am starting to get into "The Simpsons" again
I love the show, it was the best on tv. But I go in and out of it because I have seen every episode many times over. I have also not watched any of the new ones. In my mind it is a different show and this new version sucks and is everything the real simpsons mocked.
seasons 3-9 are fantastic.

The "Jay" episode was funny. He tried to be a hippy and was listening to "Uptown Girl" in the car. As for the space one I think that's the one where he accidentally got Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush sucked into space, right? That had me cracking up, especially when it seemed like he'd run for prez but ended up letting the human race be put in to slavery.

Every year or so they have a viewer's choice week on FOX where viewers can vote for which episodes they want to watch. It's always funny

Wow...I always thought it was at it's peak from season's 5-9. Seasons 1 and 2 were OK, and they hit their stride in season 3.
