Put bacon bits (real ones) on the top, on a dollop of sour cream. You won't be able to keep their bowls full.

That sounds good to me, but the sour cream would send them running away! Lol

A mixed green salad and homemade vegetable soup. Keeping it light since we'll eat more than we should tomorrow.

Homemade stuffing using Martin's potato rolls and giblets.

    Homemade jellied cranberries.

Sweet potato casserole with marshmallow top

    Korbel champagne for toast
Ruffino Classico Chianti for the meal

    Dessert:

Choice of pumpkin pie or apple pie with a choice of either whipped cream or a la mode with vanilla ice cream.

    After dinner drinks:

    Bailey's Irish Cream
    1800 Tequila w/ Cointreau
    Galiano and Pernaud
    Dalwhinnie 15
    Glenleviet 18

Just a nice little Thanksgiving meal.

Re: What's on the menu this evening?

I made homemade turkey soup last night (my brother in law doesn't bother, so when we have Thanksgiving there, I always take home the carcass). It was delicious, but since they only got a 15 lb bird, I didn't have enough turkey left to use for anything but the soup.

We have a lot of other leftovers (mashed taters, turnips, brussel sprouts, gravy) so I'm going to make chicken breasts tonight and just use the leftovers for the sides.

Tomorrow, I'll make split pea soup with the ham we also had (BIL didn't want the hambone either). I love soup.

Mom and Dad are celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary today so I'm doing a special meal tonight.

Standing Rib Roast seasoned with Lawry's Seasoned Salt and Pepper.

    Baked potatoes

    Mushroom caps

    Korbel Brut Rose for toast
    Roca Delle Macie Chianti

Dessert: homemade crepes with either grape or strawberry jam.

After dinner drink: Bailey's Irish Cream for Mom, Balvenie 21 for Dad and me.

I'm going to some place called MonAlyssa in Point Pleasant. Based on the menu, I can't tell if it's casual or slightly nicer. No t-shirt for me, I guess.

I had my first minced meat pie experience on Thanksgiving. I'll never make that mistake again.

My mother loved minced meat pie on Thanksgiving, so when I had Thanksgiving at my house, I always made it. But after she passed, we realized no one else liked it, so we deleted it from the menu. Same with creamed pearl onions.
