I make ground turkey meatloaf when Stop & Shop has the turkey on sale (usually a "buy 1-get 1 free" deal) and it comes out great. You just have to be prepared for a much lighter colored meatloaf. It almost looks undercooked when it comes out of the oven if you're accustomed to using beef.

Well, the turkey meatloaf got mixed reviews. It had fresh chopped parsley and chopped sundried tomatoes in it, so needless to say, my picky daughter wouldn't eat it. My son and I ate it (but I like my regular meatloaf recipe) and my hubby, who hates meatloaf, said he loved it. He's looking forward to me making it again. He didn't know if it was the tomatoes or the turkey, but it was the first time he ate meatloaf and LIKED it.
The mashed potatoes were made with chicken broth instead of milk and 2 Tbs low fat sour cream instead of the usual whole stick of butter I add. Everyone liked them.

And I'm with Trish...I love potatoes! (Except for french fries...not a big fan)

Tonight, it's Tacos for dinner. I only wish that I had bought another package of ground turkey to use instead of beef, but I have 2 packages of chop meat in the freezer, so I'll use it up and then start buying turkey.

Tonight is pasta and turkey meatballs. I just got off the treadmill and will skip the pasta and the wine to help undo the damage I created over the last couple of days. Turkey meatballs in tomato sauce it is!

I guess they would cook faster by boiling them first, but I've never made baked potatoes that way. They do take about an hour in a good hot oven, but I just nuke them now. So much easier. Just poke some fork holes onthe skin and nuke for a couple minutes.

I used the smaller ones that you get in a 5-lb bag. The ones they sell at the fast food joints are larger.

I've got 3 smaller ones, so I'll bake these. I need some sour cream. Shows that I'm not Irish in that I have nothing for potatoes. I still have to bake the sweet potatoes. Knowing me, I'll boil them both then bake them both. Weird sense of taste, but I usually mix everything together anyway.

I'm a potato whore. Any kind, any time.

Where is George when we need him? Will he even see the word potato? We need another GeorgePost up there!!!

Well, last night I had 3 glasses of a really sweet German wine watching the Golden Globes after having the chicken dinner my husband made. (This after making such a big stink about having only spritzers). Plus, while I skipped the tourne'd potato at meal time, I snuck in like a thief toward the end of the show and stole those little footballs right out of the fridge. BAD BAD BAD.

I feel a little better now.

I'm assuming since it's roasted, you have to cook it in the oven for a bit before using the slow cooker?

I'm making mushroom barley soup for dinner. It's cooking now because my son has his physical after school. This way, we'll just heat it up later. And we're having tuna salad wraps with it.

Something else my daughter probably won't eat (the soup).

Yum! One of my friends made this the other night. I don't like mushrooms so I picked around them but it was really good. The mushroom taste was still there, I think it's the texture I don't like. My friend got to eat all my mushroom so he was happy!

I love mushrooms and the recipe called for 2 lbs, which I only used one 14 oz package. I can't imagine using 2 lbs. The ones I used took up most of the broth as it is.
