Re: What's on the menu this evening?
I want to join in all of the yummy food talk!
We had homemade hot pastrami sandwiches. That is Monday Night Football food in our house. Why does there have to be a Yankees-Dodgers rivalry?

Re: What's on the menu this evening?
Tomorrow night I'm going to roast a pork loin thingy, and I've got some acorn squash. That just sounded like Halloween to me.

Re: What's on the menu this evening?
I read somewhere that Halloween night is one of the biggest pizza selling nights of the year. I guess rushing around to get their little trick or treaters ready, parents don't have time to make dinner and just order a pizza instead.

Re: What's on the menu this evening?
For the 2 little ones in my house, dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets and tater tots for dinner. Halloween decorated cupcakes and then trick or treating. Then a nice glass of wine for me when I get home..

That's what it used to be here. Or we'd eat at my sister's. Now the kids either don't go out, or go out on their own. So I can cook.

We'll probably get pizza tomorrow night. The pizza place is across the street from our street.

Speaking of Pork, any hints on Chops? I have the skills but no recipe. I cook for 1 (maybe 2) and would love an easy recipe.

For easy chops in the oven, Shake and Bake works well.Just follow box directions. Boneless chops are good to use. Or marinate pork chops in italian dressing and pan fry until no longer pink in center.

Those are a lot of fun to make. My new favorite: Creamy Pumpkin Dip

1 TBSP frozen oj concentrate
1 TBSP cinnamon
Chill for an hour and use graham cracker sticks or ginger snaps for dipping. You will NOT be disappointed.

I like having it but it isn't costing an arm and a leg the way we buy it. It's choice beef though that I cut to the thickness we like. Get it at Costco and trim it myself. Freeze it in our garage freezer.

Re: What's on the menu this evening?
Oh boy. Don't like the sound of that though if it is being delivered. I'd hate being a driver delivering the pizza because of the little kids that aren't being carfull crossing streets and such.

Looking for an address and all while scooting along could result in something no one wants to have happen.

Since I'll be spending 12 straight hours on-campus today (ugh) I'll probably be having dinner at Chick-Fil-A

Re: What's on the menu this evening?
I was looking for a recipe my aunt mentioned to me a couple weeks back and I found this in an article.

Braising a one-inch pork chop takes about 15 minutes, a two-inch chop about 25 minutes.

I'm going to try that today. I'm leaving work early because it's so dead here. I'll stop at the store and get the ingredients!
