AAA? And I'm sure we will see him when there's an injury or two.

"I feel proud that the Yankees have signed me to help set the table for Mariano Rivera," Veras told The AP. "That's something very important to me."

What's confusing? There are links in this thread saying he signed, including confirmation from the yanks. He won't see the Bronx, but he's yankee property.

He'll close in Columbus with a pen that will include Frank Brooks, Justin Pope, Matt Smith, and Colter Bean

In other news, the Yankees also signed some other guy we've never heard of. Reports are, he'll never make it above Columbus either.

Go easy on the guy -- he is excited to be in the Yankees system -- there is nothing wrong about that, nor is he saying anything "delusional".

Re: Yankees sign Jose Veras
I'd be excited if the Yankees signed me too.
Would you radther him say "I know I'll never pitch for the Yankees because I might not have what it takes but the minors will be fun."

I'd love to see Yates added to that list.

"... to help set the table for Mariano Rivera..." <> being Mo's setup man.

Re: Yankees sign Jose Veras
not a bad strikeout...ok, gave up a double, but I guess he was right...he did set up for Mo...in the ALDS no less. Thanks for what you gave us Veras.

Did we sign him all the way back in 05? I thought it was only last year.
