XV. ADDING/DROPPING PLAYERS: Teams may add or drop players as often as they want, without penalty. Players dropped from a team’s roster will be added to the waivers wire, where any team can put in a claim on the player for three days. If one team makes a claim on a dropped player during the waiver period, that team will be awarded him and be moved to the bottom of the waiver priority list. If more than one team puts in a claim, the team highest on the waiver list will get the player. After three days, if nobody has claimed a player, he becomes a free agent and can be signed by any team. A player that was drafted and subsequently dropped by a team and picked up by another team, retains their original draft position for keeper eligibility. For example, Eric Gagne is drafted in the first round, then suffers a season-ending injury. His team drops him, since he is not keeper-eligible. Another team picks him up after he clears waivers. Since he was a 1st round pick in the draft, he retains his 1st round status, and is ineligible to be kept by his new team.

I still haven't had a chance to read this, but out of curiosity, what exactly are we voting on? If this is just all the rules gathered together in one neat and tidy place, then haven't they all already been approved in some way or another? Or is there new material in there?

Yeah, it's all the rules nice and tidy in one place, but since the constitution also specifies what votes would be needed to change a rule, it's nice to at least get it approved, rather than just throwing it out there.

I'm wondering why there are 14 owners who haven't voted. The constitution can't be ratified without 11 votes Yes, so if you think it covers everything, please vote yes, and if you don't, please point out what you think it's missing, or if there's another reason why you haven't voted, let me know via PM.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm trying to deal with:

1) Chris Carpenter being used for like 4 innings a game now that the Cards have clinched.
2) Aaron Small being taken out of the starting rotation
3) Roger Clemens being saved for the postseason
4) Garret Anderson's creaky back
5) Pudge trying to be as good as he used to be
6) Iguchi being rested for two days every time he starts to heat up (by that idiot Ozzie Guillen)
7) Same with Broussard (except Wedge is the culprit here - and he's not an idiot, to be fair)
8) Having to root against Po & ARod (I can't, though)
9) Worse, having to root for Manny and Arroyoyo.
and
10) Having to deal with the worst bullpen in Fantasy history (due to freaking Danny Kolb)


Once I lose this week, I'll ratify the Constitution.

Why not? I would think if a majority of the people voting, vote yes, then it should pass. If nobody wants to vote on it, then just as in a real election, it's their problem. Besides, as you said, theres nothing new in it -- just all our rules in one place.

We don't require someone to get 50.1% of registered voters to win an election, just 50.1% of the votes cast.

If it's something like 10-0 or 9-0 or something, then it'll pass, but if for some reason it goes to 9-5 or something like that and there's a lot of opposistion to it, then I think that we should find out why there is that opposistion. For a document like this, I don't think it should pass if there's a large split in Yes and Nos, since it is just supposed to be a collection of our current rules, and if there are people who think that it isn't, then maybe it needs to be changed. Hopefully enough people vote that it's not a consideration.

There are several people who view this forum who haven't voted yet. John, for instance, said that he was too busy worrying about his team and some other things to read it and think about it at this time, which seems reasonable to me. I think that once the playoffs are over, more people will read it and vote on it.

Edmonds: 42 HR last year, 29 this season. BA dropped 40 points. 25 fewer RBI.
Damon: Fewest HR since coming to Boston
Hatteberg: Fewest HR since 2001. Last 3 years -- 15, 12, 15. This year -- 7.
Maddux: Worst season since 1987.
Beltre: Fewest HR since 2001.
