I thought he was older than that. Who were his two losses to and when were they?

Untelevised fights recap for UFC: Ultimate Fight Night 3 via Sherdog.com

    Fight #1
Jason von Flue vs Alex Karalexis
Winner: Jason von Flue TKO (Choke) 1:17 Rd. 3

Jason finished him with a Arm-Triangle Choke (Kata-Gatame). Alex did not tapout, so the ref. stopped the bout when Karalexis lost consciousness.

    Fight #2
    Spencer Fisher vs Aaron Riley
Winner: Spencer Fisher by TKO (Doctor Stoppage) 5:00 Rd. 1

Fisher outstruck Riley in a round that saw both fighters trading. Riley made it through the round but seemed to suffer a broken jaw. American Top Team's Ricardo Liborio was trying to call the fight until the doctor checked him out.

    Fight #3
    Duane Ludwig vs Jonathan Goulet
Winner: Duane Ludwig by TKO (Right Punch) 0:11 Rd. 1

Goulet came out and threw a big left, only to be countered by Duane with a nice right that landed flushly on the chin/side of the head. Goulet came to when he hit the ground, but not before Mario Yamasaki called a stop to the contest at eleven seconds of round one.

    Fight #4
    Josh Neer vs Melvin Guillard
Winner: Josh Neer by Submission (Triangle Choke) 4:20 Rd. 1

Guillard was winning, super aggressive. Cut Neer bad above the right eye but Dr. let it continue. Neer was biding time and he caught Guillard whilie he was going for a double-leg takedown.

UFC: Ultimate Fight Night 3 Fight-By-Fight commentary via Kakutougi.info

Fight #1 Chris Leben vs. Jorge Rivera (CL vs. JR)

Showing highlights of Rivera and Leben and it's about to go down!

185lbs. They are already in the ring Bruce is doing the usuals Chris smiling and bouncing Jorge bouncing and screams "C'mon!" as Bruce introduces.

    Round 1

JR with a kick Chris answers and they clinch up Chris get the takedown and Jorge reverses and they stand back up

Knees from Chris in the clinch as they are on the fence. Jorge with choppingpunches. Jorge hurt Chris Chris comes back and drops Jorge and pounds til John stops it

Left hook from Leben dropped Jorge and then he jumped on him for the ground and pound.

Result: Chris Leben wins via TKO (strikes) Round 1 1:44

Leben sounds like he did better than I expected. Is Chris Leben on his way to a title shot? Not yet. He has beaten Patrick Cote and Edwin Dewees, but I like to see him beat major contenders like David "The Crow" Loiseau and Evan Tanner first before I can say Chris Leben gets his Middleweight title shot.

Chris talking big sh.....! lol 1:44 of the 1st round he wins.

Leben was rocked by a few good punches and came back to win it in impressive fashion.

    UFC: UFN 3

Live Fight #3: Stephan Bonnar vs James Irvin (SB, JI)

    Intro's Sandman bouncing, Bonnar chilling

SB x JI ref Herb Dean

    Round 1

Touch up and James swing witha big hook nice low kick SB clinches and they are on the fence. Bonnar gets takedown and 1/2 guard

SB working punches on the ground and almost gets side mount more punches from SB. No change in position SB looking for arm bar JI slips out and they are clinching on the fence.

Knees from JI and SB gets takedown and side mount and punching here and there.

Looking for the Kimura but JI is defending well. Has the Kimura and JI makes faces it might break

Ow it looks like his arm broke and Herb Dean stepped in Ouch...holy sh*t! That was brutal.

It might be broke and it's good it would not have been on t.v. I'm looking to see if he will move it. I dont think he can.

You see how limp his arm looks? That is painfully gruesome to watch.

Result: Stephan Bonnar via Submission (Kimura) 4:30 of Round 1

UFC: Ultimate Fight Night 3 - Broadway's PostMortem

In all, the fights were good. The main event was pretty much a one-sided affair with Tim Sylvia dominating.

Josh Burkman had his impressive win since TUF2 beating Drew Fickett. IMHO, he was the Ultimate Fighter until he broke his arm during his fight with Melvin Guillard. Burkman really impressed me. The UFC welterweight division is pretty deep and stacked with fighters including Matt Hughes the champion, Georges St. Pierre, BJ Penn, Joe Stevenson, Luke Cummo, Burkman, Fickett, Josh Koscheck, Joe Riggs, Kenny Florian, Kit Cope, and Diego Sanchez. Burkman even called out Diego. I like to see that fight: Josh Burkman vs. Diego Sanchez.

Chris Leben with another impressive win over another veteran Jorge Rivera. Do I think Leben matches up well against Rich Franklin? Only time will tell, but Leben has to go through David Loiseau and Evan Tanner first in order to get the Middleweight title shot.

In all, on a scale of 1-10 for this UFN, I give it a 7. Solid card and fights. I still say Ultimate Fight Night 2 was the best of three. The :11 KO by Duane Ludwig was cool.

The nasty scene: Stephan Bonnar's Kimura breaking James Irvin's arm. My jaw dropped to the floor after watching that.

My scores on a 1-10 range with 1 bad and 10 good:
    Ultimate Fight Night 1 - 4
    Ultimate Fight Night 2 - 9.5-10
    Ultimate Fight Night 3 - 6.5-7

Now, Dana White announced Matt Hughes vs. Royce Gracie in a May PPV. Wow. Two of UFC's legendary fighters facing off in the Octagon. Gracie has an impressive resume in the UFC. Matt Hughes also has an impressive resume in the UFC as a 5-time welterweight champion. Royce hasn't been in the UFC in a while since he fought in PRIDE and the UFC today is a lot different than in 1993. Also, the announcement delays Matt's title match with either BJ Penn or Georges St. Pierre.

Memo to the UFC: I know this is a side-show fight, but you're goin' to let the winner of BJ Penn vs. Georges St. Pierre wait for their title shot against Matt Hughes? Come on.

You know what? Its all about the money. A majority of the USA fans will watch this PPV because they remember the mighty Royce who was the greatest of that time. Then the UFC faded and people quit watching because they disbanded the tournament formats. Now they have started watching again and they will want to see this fight.

It isn't about great matchups, its about getting people to watch now.

Can't be great every time but at least every match except for one had a decision by knockout or submission. The Slyvia/Silva was not bad either. I agree it was a so-so night of fights.

The last couple free events had more momentum going into the events with the Ultimate Fighter Final Matches

    Sherdog.com Preview - UFC 57: Liddell-Couture 3

    http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles.asp?n_id=3927

Ah the “rubber match,” taken from the game of bridge or, some say, from the English game of “bowls” or lawn bowling (you roll wooden balls across a green and … forget it).

All you need to know is it means “you won one, I won one, let’s finish it.” And so here we are. The Liddell-Couture trilogy finishes as it began: with the UFC light heavyweight championship title on the line.

I just hope Vitor Belfort doesn’t jump into the ring and yell “I got next” or some such foolishness. That would be embarrassing wouldn’t it? Well that bout is just the “piece de resistance” or as the French prefer to say "le morceau de résistance.” (Georges St. Pierre would love that line.)

Um … anyway, let’s put all the fancy talk away and focus on the fights. The entire card breaks down as follows:

Elite Performance fighter Mike Whitehead throws down with former TUF cast-mate Keith Jardine of Jackson’s Submission Fighting.

Hammer House athlete Branden Lee Hinkle meets American Top Team/Olympia fighter Jeff Monson.

Brawler Gilbert Aldana from BraUsa Academy takes on American Kickboxing Academy striker Paul Buentello.

Brazil Dojo “vale tudo” fighter Alessio Sakara, from Italy, faces Australian grappler Elvis Sinosic from Machado Jiu-Jitsu.

Nick Diaz of Cesar Gracie’s camp and Joe Riggs of Arizona Combat Sports take to the cage.

Gracie Barra’s Renato Sobral goes toe-to-toe with Mike Van Arsdale of the American Kickboxing Academy.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir from the Las Vegas Combat Club squares off against jiu-jitsu fighter Marcio Cruz from Gracie Barra.

City Boxing fighter Brandon Vera confronts Elite Performance fighter Justin Eilers.

And in the main event, reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell from The Pit Fight Team battles Team Quest’s Randy Couture for the third time.

Babalu with two straight submission victories. You don't want to go to the ground with Renato Sobral.

Joe Riggs handing Nick Diaz his second straight loss. I think Diaz is still reeling from his loss to Diego Sanchez in TUF2 finale. I like to see Riggs vs. Diego Sanchez.
