Re: baseball uniforms
I essentially agree. I hate those alternate uniforms (batting practice/spring training jerseys worn as game jerseys
). Every team should wear white at home and grey on the road.
David Ortiz tested positive for performance enhancing drugs in 2003.

I clicked on the article linked into it, called "How many uniforms does your team have?"
http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/3540788
I found a few errors, did anyone else catch them?
The Dodgers use a blue uniform in addition to the white and gray. At least they did
Don't the Giants use 3? The White, the gray and the black?
I heard Boston won't be using their red ones this year, giving them two.
Washington used their red ones per Esteban Loazia's request a week or so ago.
Also, the link they have where you can see all the teams uni's has 5 listed for the Mets. They repeat one twice and show miguel cairo in a warm up.

Re: baseball uniforms
I agree for the most part, but I'd include the Dodgers uniform in the "best."

Re: baseball uniforms
I agree.
The Yanks uni is the best
Crush it with your mind vice.

Re: baseball uniforms
To me the Yanks uniform is # 1, and the Tigers #2. Both are classic.

Re: baseball uniforms
I agree with his choices. Even the Red Sox one. But, while I agree with his Red Sox point on the uni's, I dont agree with the 'Any Red Sox Uni'. Their Red jerseys are a friggin' eye sore.

The White Sox home unis aren't bad.
Rocking that "arrogant Yankee fan" attitude.

Re: baseball uniforms
It seems to me that this guy just chose the most historically significant uniforms as the best.
I happen to completely agree with that, but if that's the criteria for evaluation, then there's no decision to make, and there's not really any point in writing an article about it.
The Mets uniform mentioned in the article is ugly, but I don't have any problem with the other four mentioned.
They're not nearly as nice as the classic uniforms, but like I said, if he's basing the "nicest" uniforms on the ones that are the most classic and have the most meaning, that's a very objective standard that I can figure out by myself. I really didn't have to be told that.

Re: baseball uniforms
I dont think the padres unis are that bad with the exception of the camoflage ones, those things are putrid. I dont see how he could think the grey/ gold is worse than camo?!? Also the red sox home alternatives are pretty bad. they make ortiz look like a plump tomato, glad to see them go.

I agree, those camo uniforms are horrid. I can't believe they make those guys play in those.

I essentially agree with the home choices, but disagree with the road. The San Diego uniforms look weird, but are waaay better than their 70's counterparts.
Also, the photo gallery is wrong. Someone forgot to tell Fox the White Sox also wear pinstripes.

Re: baseball uniforms
You know, I went through that entire image gallery and it is not comprehensive. It's also inaccurate. One of the uniforms they have listed for the Cardinals is a throwback jersey...that they wore in 1998!

Re: baseball uniforms
The Yankees home uni is the best. Authentic pinstripes, I like that.
It's not the 27 World Championships that drive the New York Yankees. It's the 28th.
Every year is The Year. Go Yankees.

The Detroit Tigers uni is also classic. The Boston Red Sox home uni is a classic.

Man, the San Diego Padres 'camo' uniform. Looks like they're in the Marine Boot Camp with those on.

Re: baseball uniforms
Going through the Yankees uniforms from 1903-1919 was interesting. I knew they had some different designs but I was surprised that teams altered their uniform every year for the first two decades of the A.L. Yanks dabbled with the interlocking NY but didn't stick with it until 1936.

Re: baseball uniforms
I agree with the 5 best. You notice that they are for the most part, some of the oldest teams in the league. You don't mess with the best. There's no reason to change the pinstripes, or the gothic "D" or the Cubs logo.
And yes, the pinstripes are the best.
