The most unusual nickname I've ever seen belonged to a player in the 19th century named Charlie Pabor who was nicknamed "The Old Woman In The Red Cap." Try hanging that one on a player today.

Funny you should mention "Louisiana Lightning". It just brought to mind our own Ron Guidry, who back in the good old daze was also nicknamed "Gator" and "Ragin' Cajun"
