    Re: First Place Knicks!!!

Look, this is the bottom line. All of you who are making a big deal out of the draft picks are clearly out of your minds. We'll have our own lottery pick this year, if the Knicks are smart and don't make the playoffs. Then, the picks we got from the other teams are going to end up being right at the end of the first round. This has absolutely no value. The knicks have never had a good draft, outside of Ewing, who was a no brainer. I don't care if Thomas is a good evaluator of talent or not - - nothing that he has done has worked out so far. Look for that to continue.

    FI-RE THOM-AS, FI-RE THOM-AS.

By the way, I don't think the Sixers made off as well as they look like they did. I've been saying this for years, and Skip Bayless of ESPN has finally written a column that sumns up my feelings about Webber in a succinct 3 page column that can be found here: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2...bayless/050228

The Knicks are horrendous . A 12pt with 90 seconds left. Who else in any level of basketball are so bad?

i think alot of people need to stop putting all the blame on Isiah....Im not saying he doesnt deserve some blame

but we all need to realize the biggest problem with the Knicks isnt Isiah, isnt Herb Williams, isnt the players

its our ownership....CABLEVISION and the king of jackasses Mr. James Dolan

they have made the Knicks into the joke of the NBA

typical Knicks...they will win just enough games to have a record thats not quite bad enough to have a good chance at getting a high lottery pick

    DaBomber is right.

Anyways, how do you put Cablevision responsible for the movies Thomas has made? Granted, the Knicks are playing much better.. but 4, 5 games isn't enough to wipe away his tenure here.

I'm hoping they continue to play well though. I like seeing Tim Thomas finally comfortable and confident. Very refreshing.

I think Isiah is a pawn....at the mercy of what Cablevision wants to do

you have to understand Dolan's mentality....he is the anti-Steinbrenner....they don't care about winning championships, all they want to do is make money.....so Dolan isn't happy that the Knicks are out of the playoffs right now so he tells Isiah to go shake things up, and hope that will allow the team to somehow sneak into the playoffs

they dont care about rebuilding, they dont care about winning

If you offered Dolan a contract that says the Knicks will finish 41-41, make the playoffs but lose in the 1st round every year...HE WOULD SIGN FOR IT IN A HEARTBEAT!!! as long as the Knicks can sellout the majority of their games and Dolan can get $$$ from 1 or 2 home playoff games, he will be a happy camper

we could have the smartest GM alive running this team and it wouldnt matter....as long as Cablevision owns the team this is what we will get

I hate Dolan as much as anybody, but I think Isiah has demonstrated that he is not a competent GM. His track record as an executive is pretty poor. Changes need to be made to the entire franchise, top to bottom, including the GM and the ownership.

Not sure if he was just making excuses about his earlier performance, but he mentioned in his post game interview that he's finally healthy now. On top of that, he has a clear mind, with the burden of the death in his family off his mind and heart.

THis is a guy who is capable of doing this every single night. I want to see more of it. Tim thomas is a good guy, in my opinion. I want to see him do well.

we can change the GM.....but we cant change the ownership....and Im fully convinced that as long as Cablevision owns MSG, this is what we will get from the Knicks

    simmons on Isiah

    http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2...cowbell/050225
KNICKS GET TWO MORE UNDERSIZED POWER FORWARDS
I have a couple of thoughts here ...
    1. When Isiah called the Spurs and said, "We'll give you Nazr Mohammed, you give us Malik Rose and a crap No. 1, and we don't care about the $20 million difference in salaries," do you think Gregg Popovich said, "Lemme call you right back," then pretended he was deliberating about it for 30 secondsw before speed-dialing Isiah back? Was there laughter in the Spurs offices? High-fiving? Was Popovich the guy who called Isiah under the "Maybe Isiah will be dumb enough to give us a center" premise? How did this go down?
    2. Am I crazy or do the Knicks have a 10-man rotation made up of 3 shooting guards, 5 power forwards and 2 small forwards?
    3. Could Isiah make a trade that surprised you anymore at this point? For instance, if you read that he traded Stephon Marbury to the Lakers for Brian Grant, Tierre Brown, a lottery-protected first-rounder and the rights to Magic Johnson's next comeback, would you even bat an eyelash? Me neither.
