Last year, it was voted Fight of the Year 2012 by Sports Illustrated.

On March 30, 2012, Brandon Rios and Mike Alvarado square off again on HBO Boxing After Dark at 10:15 PM ET/PT from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I think Rios wins by 9th Round TKO. Alvarado outboxed Rios in the fight and he needs to do it again and avoid Rios from getting inside of him.

In the last fight, 'Bam Bam' went inside and did major body work on 'Mile High' which set up the brawling which Rios likes.

After watching Timothy Bradey's last fight against Ruslan Provodnikov, this is the most impressive win in Desert Storm's career, even better than his 'controversial' win against Manny Pacquiao.

Both Bradley and Provodnikov were going toe-to-toe, both landing very hard shots and both did damage, but I thought Bradley had a little more extra in damaging Provodnikov's eye which Freddie Roach was close to stopping it.

However, Provodnikov showed heart of his own knocking down Bradley in Round 12 and almost got a stoppage out of it.

I had it 114-113 for Bradley in a very close and exciting fight and one of my candidates for Fight of 2013.

Two Filipino boxers besides Manny Pacquiao put their titles on the line in HBO's next two boxing shows.

On Saturday April 6, 2013 at 2 PM ET/PT on HBO2, 'The Hawaiian Punch' Brian Viloria, fresh off his Flyweight unification title knockout over Hernan 'Tyson' Marquez, defends his WBO and WBA Flyweight titles against Juan Estrada from the Cotai Arena in Macau, China.

And next Saturday April 13, 2013 from the Radio City Music Hall in New York City on HBO World Championship boxing, one of boxing's best pound-for-pound pugilists, 'The Filipino Flash' Nonito Donaire defends his WBO & The Ring Super Bantamweight titles and going for the WBA Super Bantamweight title against gamed and feared Cuban superstar Guillermo 'El Chacal' Rigondeaux.

BB55's Take: Brian Viloria vs. Juan Francisco Estrada

This is an important April 2013 for Filipino fighters as two of their best besides 'The Pacman' Manny Pacquiao put their titles on the line.

Up first is Brian 'The Hawaiian Punch' Viloria taking on Juan Estrada.

Fresh off knocking out Hernan 'Tyson' Marquez, Viloria showed in that fight he has a very good chin and a warrior's spirit and heart.

However, he needs to employ the same patience tactics like he did against Marquez against a young fighter in Estrada who has pop and speed in his punches with his 18 wins out of 23 coming via the knockout.

But Estrada will take on an experienced fighter and will move up from light flyweight to flyweight to take on Viloria so stamina will be a factor.

And Estrada needs to pick the right time to explode with shots with bad intentions. Marquez threw a lot of those shots with bad intentions against Viloria and he punched himself out throwing bomb after bomb.

Prediction: I say Estrada will be a good fighter in the future, but not yet. Viloria is too strong, tough and experienced for him. Brian Viloria over Juan Estrada via KO 7th Round.

Boxing (pugilism, prize fighting, the sweet science or in Greek pygmachia) is a martial artcombat sport in which two people engage in a contest of strength, speed, reflexes, endurance and will by throwing punches with gloved hands. and Amateur boxing is an Olympic and Commonwealth sport and is a common fixture in most of the major international games - it also has its own World Championships. Boxing is supervised by a referee over a series of one- to three-minute intervals called rounds. The result is decided when an opponent is deemed incapable to continue by a referee, is disqualified for breaking a rule, resigns by throwing in a towel, or is pronounced the winner or loser based on the judges' scorecards at the end of the contest.

    Re: Boxing, anyone?

The story so far in Boxing's 2013 year...

Mike Alvarado got his revenge on Brandon Rios frustrating him with boxing in one fight of the year candidate.

Another fight of the year and also some rounds of the year candidate came from 'Desert Storm' Timothy Bradley against Ruslan Provodnikov. Bradley's next foe: 'Dinamita' Juan Manuel Marquez.

Philippine boxing enters their continued slump as both 'Hawaiian Punch' Brian Viloria and 'The Filipino Flash' Nonito Donaire Jr. lost their titles and took a big hit in their P4P rankings.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. remains undefeated after outclassing Roberto Guerrero.

And what could possibly Manny Pacquiao's final bout in his legendary boxing career will be in Macau on November 24 against Rios.

Off topic, but Manny Pacquiao is facing charges of vote buying and assault after he and his bodyguards mauled a barangay captain (sort of like a town chief) who tried to stop him from distributing rice and cash to the needy (aka bribing people for their vote) during the elections for the Senate.

Just the last thing Manny Pacquiao needs before his next fight: another distraction.
