USA Mens Basketball loses to Italy in a qualifying game
Not a big deal since it really didn't count but losing by 17 points (95-78)to Italy is pathetic. Winning the gold is not going to as easy as they thought...
It's the front page of espn.com and they don't have an article up about it yet. But here is the best link I can find as of now.
http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/index“I mean, people knew that Brown was out there, and that Randy was ornery all the time. And Pavano is whoever he is. But if you’re their manager, you can’t go out and write about them like that.”

The US team played horrible. The only played defense for about 5 minutes out of the whole game. The US team cant shoot worth a damn outside of 10 feet either. If they keep this up, it could be ugly. These guys need to learn team basketball quick.

If this concept of individual basketball instead of team basketball keeps goin', team USA basketball will not medal in Athens.
They lost their first exhibition/friendly game since NBA players came into play in the Olympics and their fourth loss with professional NBA players on the U.S. Roster. It's not the 27 World Championships that drive the New York Yankees. It's the 28th.
Every year is The Year. Go Yankees.
