Who wants to bet that the king of run support doesn't get the loss?

4 innings in the books and Zambrano's already thrown 112 pitches! How many times does a guy get staked to a 7-0 lead and have trouble staying in the game long enough to qualify for the win?

And another 1st inning run surrendered by the Red Pox
When the Rays scored in the first inning against Lowe in tonights game (May 20), that marked the 17th game out of 41 games in which the Red Pox have surrendered a run in the 1st inning.
Teams are jumping aggressive all over Red Pox pitching early in games.
By the way, Lowe has stunk lately. Check out his numbers over the last 4 starts -
4 starts
18 innings pitched
27 hits
11 walks
7 strike outs
16 earned runs
0 wins, 2 losses (and it looks like a 3rd loss coming tonight)
That works out to an ERA of 8.00

I don't know how Zabrano got out of that inning with only 3 runs. He has walked 8 people already and hit 1.

You are really obsessed with the first inning.

DiNardo walks the lead off D-Ray...D-Rays need to take advantage...to tack some on & keep the lead.
Don't know much about their 'pen, but Zambrano will be lucky to qualify for the Win. He has to go 5 innings right?..

amazing.. Zambrano over 130+ pitches now.. Lou is pulling a Hal Mcrae circa 2002 here, he just doesnt care anymore and I cant blame him. I guess being the manager of the D-rays does that to ya.

John Halama is on.
The bullpen guys must be spiking eachother running out to get to the hill for this one.
You get 7 runs of support, and you can't force yourself to throw a strike every now and again? Pathetic. Victor is a disgrace to the name Zambrano.

Glad I didn't see the beginning of this one. I bet the "Derek Lowe face" was prominently displayed, though.

What a Beautiful Pair!
I just found a picture of Mrs. Jose Lima online. I'd missed the anthem when it happened, so I didn't know what everyone was talking about.Originally posted by Socal Pinstriper

Zambrano walked nine while he was out there and Halama one ... the Rays have walked ten Sox in five innings!

This doesn't make for watchable baseball, unless you're a Sox fan who loves seeing the opposing team implode. The fourth inning took almost an hour to play. (I'm not exaggerating, I think it was 52 minutes.)

05-20-04 08:20 PM #24I got the game on. The announcers have indicated that 9 BB is a new record. The D-Rays will definitely fold.Originally posted by -tz
