Patience a requirement for would-be Yankees

TRENTON, N.J. - At first, they all say the same thing: "I just concentrate on doing my job. If I'm good, I'll get a chance somewhere."

But press a little harder, and the young guns of the Trenton Thunder admit they secretly envision themselves on the field at Yankee Stadium, completing double plays with Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez, or calling pitches for Mariano Rivera.

For even the brightest prospects on the Yanks' Class AA affiliate, patience is part of the job requirement when they appear to be blocked by All-Stars at nearly every position on the parent club.
