Woods and Sluggers announce second trade of 2004
Sluggers get:
1B Frank Thomas
SP Brett Myers
Wood gets:
1B Derrek Lee
SP Jeff Weaver
Comments:
"Although we were hesitant to give up a valuable keeper in Derrek Lee, the Sluggers' Front Office was positive that Frank would fill the void well. Also, we expect big things from Brett Myers, so we definitely wanted him on our staff. We give a "good luck" to Jeff Weaver, who we feel will do much better with the Guys with Woods rather than the Sluggers." GM Wood of the Guys with Wood was hunting for an outfielder in a late evening jaunt online, after some pizza when he dialed in on the GM from Tuggers Sluggers hope to pull out a slugger of his own. Hateing to let the Big Hurt go, but needing to at the same time. Weaver a big risk, Wood is rolling the dice and sending out of the box his first keeper in a keeper league.
Hands shook.

I was thinking about somehow acquiring Steve Carlton just to trade him to Petey for oh, five or six draft picks for the 2005 Draft.
Just messing with ya, Petey!!!

Have some Prozac, while you're at it. (For those who are worried that Terry's serious, the trade proposal on the Commissioner.com site currently has 0 objections, so either he's so apoplectic with rage that he can't use a web browser, or he's kidding around.)

Okay, I just looked at it again. I guess it's not all that bad. I'll let this one slide. But, hey, Big E , you must have really screwed up at the draft.Originally posted by terry14420

I'd take a chance on Weaver. I bet he'll bounce back with a pretty decent season.

Ah, the shoot-first-ask-questions-later objection. Guaranteed to sow confusion and acrimony in the league. A clever ploy!

857 points for Lee/Weaver according to 2003 numbers.
1016 points for Meyers/Thomas....
160 points is kinda a big difference, no?

Surprising that with such a high points differential that this has garnered only one official objection, while our trade, infinitely more balanced, hit 5.

I voted to approve. Once again, we have the same situation that we had with the Naughties/Lous trade. This trade could easily benefit either team, and therefore shouldn't be objected to, imo.
