I've been posting sparingly for a few days here, and Jim responded quickly and in a very friendly and helpful manner to a question or two I had for him by email. He has personally made me feel welcome and I appreciate it greatly.
I understand the influx of new people is very disconcerting for the "oldtimers" here, so I'll do my part to be an addition, and not a subtraction to the board.
Being an old guy (Mickey was my first baseball hero) has it's advantages. Maturity, grace, wisdom, the vantage point of years of following the Yankees (well, I've got one of the four and I'm working on the other three) will hopefully keep me from sounding too much like a Starstruck Jeterbug Bandwagoner or a Dimwitted Dirt-Disher. I'm more of the Old-And-In-Your-Way Crusty Recalcitrant Maladjusted Unrepentant Reprobate to be precise, it's more fun....
Thanks for letting me butt in on your board, I'd like to make it my home, too.
See you out there

Lefty, what makes you think that the newcomers are disconcerting to the "oldtimers". NOT TRUE. Length of service has nothing to do with it. What is important is that you have respect for your friends here. If not then go someplace else, we have no time to suffer fools.
And if you think you are an old guy, I started to root for the Yankees in 1946.
Welcome aboard (again) and we welcome your views and insight.Yogi is a National Treasure. Let's put him in a National Hall of Fame. The man has no peers.
