Buck Showalter has Barry Bonds walked intentionally with a two-run lead with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. The move works!

ON THIS DATE IN 1998;
"Clinging to an 8-6 lead with two outs in the ninth, Arizona intentionally walks San Francisco's Barry Bonds with the bases loaded -- the first documented incident of it's kind since 1944. Brent Mayne then lines out to end the game."

Buck was a great manager and an even better analyst. I hope he gets the job with the Mets after Valentine gets fired.

Re: Buck
yeah I heard that too, but the manager is there to make a team win, not be popular. The players are suppose to respect him, not like him.Originally posted by 26X4US

I just don't like the way he uses his pitchers, especially relievers.
However, I do believe he deserves a major league managing job.
