That is a great game. However, game 4 is the one from that series that I enjoy watching the most. Long live the King!!!

It was special... A bunch of my friends were over and this girl asked me who Leyritz was when he came up against Wohlers and I told her he's a guy who hits clutch homeruns - watch - AND HE DID!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember game 6 well.
Hubby and I were bowling on a league and they had the tv on and no one was interested in the game but the 2 of us it seemed (Must have been all Mets fans. Seeing it could be the series winning game, I couldn't take it anymore, so we Ieft the bowling alley mid frame, and went home to finish watching the game.
I was glad I was home, because sappy me had tears running down my face, so happy for Joe Torre and his first WS victory (and the rest of the team of course!)

In my opinion there is no other game comparable to game 6 96...that is the top of my baseball universe....18 yr draught..we came home...and the Stadium has NEVER EVER been louder then when Joe Girardi hit that triple and we knew the title was ours...dont ever let anyone tell you differently.

This WS has always been bittersweet for me...it was our first win since '78, which was awesome, but Donnie should have been there

Thanks for the heads-up a week in advance. I hate hearing of stuff at the last minute, unless that's when you receive it (I did this once when Doc's '94 no-hitter was on ESPN Classic). I'll have the VCR ready.

Yup, 96 was probably the best one for me also, because we were going up against a clearly favored atlanta team who had just previously won the ws's before. One other note, the yankees still managed to beat the Braves even when Maddux was dominant(like pedro without the k's) and they managed to beat Smoltz that year, who i believe won the cy with a 24-8 record. That series was one of the best in history cosidering the Yankees got their brains beaten out at Yankee stadium the first 2 games.

Wish I could get ESPN Classic but in DC Comcast doesn't carry it except on Digital cable which I don't have. Bummer! Enjoy it though, it was a good one . . .

How great to see that game again. I was away on a business trip watching in my hotel room all alone. I think I woke up the entire hotel ! !

Unfortunately Cablevision in my area chooses to not carry ESPN Classic. So I miss out. I'm hoping the YES Network will fill a lot of it's down time with classic Yankee Games. That would fill the void.
(I will have the YES Network, if Dolan won't carry it - I'll get a DISH)
