    Football Contracts Not Guaranteed

    Does anybody know the history as to why basball but not football has guaranteed players contracts?

    How can football players not have guaranteed contracts? How weak is their union. People die in PRACTICE. These guys should have guaranteed contracts.

    The reason their contracts aren't guaranteed is the risk of injury is much higher.

    But from a players point of view, wouldn't a high risk of injury make a guaranteed contract even more important?

    Thet explains the extremely high sigining bouns thses guys get. That is the only thing guaranteed.
