Doesn't surprise me. I read some comments from some Sox fans saying it was Craig that interfered.

That's what I had posted above....

Watch Craig carefully. He takes 2 steps INSIDE 3B to start home. He then PUSHES Middlebrooks down on his way over him. Watch Middlebrooks' arms, he's pushing himself up which is why his legs go up. THAT'S NOT OBSTRUCTION. When the runner essentially seeks out contact with a prone fielder, that should never be called obstruction.

Yup. It amazes me how some Sox fans think.

Pedroia is a very good player, but I wish Tim McCarver would stop expressing his desire to to tongue kiss him.

caveat: he's a very good player when the game takes place at Fenway Park. He's an average player, otherwise.

Gomes grinds his helmet into his head and it reminds me of that toy where you mash the playdough on the top and it comes out on the cheeks and chin.

Lynn got Carp out before I was able to say I disagreed with him staying in the game. Way to prove me wrong.

I'm curious, was this a wise idea to remove Buchholz after 4 innings to PH for him? He'd given up all of 1 run so far.

Oh well, hopefully only 4 innings of Red Sox bullpen left (or 5+ if necessary).

It was probably the right move. You had the opportunity to take the lead there and with Buchholz likely not strong enough to go deep in the game, it makes sense to go for the offense there in what has been a low-scoring series.

So Buccholz has been off around innings 5-7?

Has the Boston pen ever been stretched to 5 innings in the playoffs this year?

Buchholz is dealing with some sort fatigue/dead arm/unknown injury. That's why he was bumped to game 4 in favor of Peavy.

Just last night, Peavy only went 4 and there have been a few other short outings this postseason, so the pen has dealt with this before.

Such a DB celebration for it being the sixth inning.

Methany just made the move that will most likely lose him the series. Maness had no business being in this game.

That's a gross overreaction. Likely cost them the series? How?

Edit: also, it's probably the right move. it just didn't work.
