    please Cardinals, WIN
The real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes

I think if the Cardinals don't win the first two games in Boston, they have very little shot at winning the title.

As good as Boston's pitching is, I think the Cardinal pitching is even better. I see St. Louis winning in six games .

I think the return of Allen Craig should be a huge boost for St. Louis. For once, there will be an NL team with a legitimate DH in the AL games.

Agreed. Wainwright is the best pitcher in this series and, despite being extremely green, I think Wacha may be the second best pitcher in this series. The Cardinal lineup is extremely deep for an NL team, too. Kozma is the only weak spot. 6 excellent hitters, 2 average ones, and one awful one.

Wow, no love for the AL? The AL hasn't won since 09.

My "league loyalty" ends with Boston, Anaheim and Texas (not to mention Baltimore and Tampa)
If they ask who was our star, give them 25 names, and if you forget our names, just tell them we were Yankees.

Re: WORLD SERIES: Cardinals vs Red Sox

I look at this series the same way that I looked at the Boston/Detroit series. Detroit had the better pitching. Detroit's offense seemed to be atleast on par with Boston's. The only place that Boston was better was the bullpen.

So here I am again. Cardinal's pitching seems better. Offense is the best NL offense I have seen so it seems to be on par with Boston's. The difference is that the Cards have legit power arms coming out of the bullpen so they are atleast on par with Boston's.

I think it will be the Cardinal's in 7.

I root for the NL in all World Series that do not involve the Yankees.

I usually root AL in WS unless there is some compelling story for the NL team but in this WS I will support the NL all the way because I simply do not like the AL team.

I'm the same way for the most part, with a couple of exceptions. I don't care for certain NL teams (Braves for example) so it really depends on the AL opponent.

reader Erik went on StubHub today and purchased a ticket to Game 1 of the World Series at Fenway Park for $6. The seat, located in right field box 97, was listed at $3.00. Presumably the seller screwed up (at the very least) the decimal placement on the listing because the cheapest ticket in that section is now listed at $759.00.

Erik passed along the confirmation email from StubHub that shows the transaction:

I would re-sell and make a ton of money. That's like buying a winning scratch-off ticket that was scratched before you even bought it.

I'm just going to go ahead and root for the Red Sox since the team I was rooting to win lost every single series so far this post season. Every single one.

Six Reasons to Love This Seemingly Unlovable World Series Matchup
    3. The Red Sox Have Stupid Beards. Listen, beards are great. Iíve had a beard since the moment I could grow one, and I havenít even owned a razor since college. To paraphrase Edmond Rostand, know that I glory in this beard of mine, for a great beard indicates a great man: genial, courteous, intellectual, virile, courageous ó as I am ó and such as you, poor wretch, will never dare to be even in imagination.

But come on, guys. A few years ago, Jayson Werth decided to go fully biblical, and then Brian Wilson decided to go one step further, elevating the Karl Marx beard into an obnoxious artifact of cultural tone deafness that makes the idea of Justin Bieber playing an organ grinder in a Youppi costume while riding a unicycle seem like the model of dignified restraint.

The Red Sox apparently had some bad clubhouse juju last year, and if they all need to have some unifying thing to bring them together, more power to them. But real men donít look like savages. Seriously, when Dustin Pedroiaís eye black gets runny, he starts to look like Robinson Crusoe. Itís not charming or colorful. Itís infantile. Donít encourage it.
