Tigers jump out to a 4-0 thanks to a Pedroia mistake in the 2nd. Loving it.

Evidently he's only good when he has to dive for the ball. Sox are very lucky that it's only 5-0, they got a gift from the ump on that neighborhood play on the force out.

that was a neighboring town play.
If they ask who was our star, give them 25 names, and if you forget our names, just tell them we were Yankees.

If tigers win today (Which odds are looking good) then the series will be tied 2-2. You gotta believe it'll be difficult for the sox to face Sanchez, Scherzer, and then Verlander. I mean Lester will pitch well I assume, buchholz won't out duel the cy young. And Lackey will not out duel Verlander for the second time in a row. Hopefully they keep the lead tonight and win tomorrow, then the series would be basically over assuming Scherzer can pitch like he did last time and Leyland doesn't blow a 4 run lead again.

Thank goodness Peavy won't be pitching again this series. It's going to come down to which team's top three pitchers have a better day. Should be good baseball.

Who here likes the idea of Benoit in a Game 7 with a one-run lead at Fenway?

Tigers have to win tommorrow to have any shot at winning this series. No way they would win both games in Fenway. If they go back there up 3-2, they have a chance although I still favor Boston.

I dont see Sanchez outdueling Lester again tommorrow, but we'll see. The Tigers pen also scares me to death.

Oh, so the Tigers aren't so distraught by game 2 that they can't bounce back now?

The shorter the series gets, the more chance comes into play. I hate Detroit's bullpen as well, but if it gets to game 7 I don't see Lackey pitching nearly as well two games in a row.

With Scherzer and Verlander, if Detroit is up 3-2 I favor them. Both will go deeper than last time.

Are you kidding me? This thing is a crapshoot.

Yeah, the things you mention could happen, but there's nothing near absolute in this series. Scherzer/Verlander/Lester/Buchholz are all capable of out pitching one another on any night. Add Fenway to the mix and it's even more uncertain.

If CC had been CC this year, the Yankees (with our bullpen including MO) could have competed with either of these teams, despite our anemic offense. You need three good starters, and we would have had three if CC had been vintage CC. Let's pray he gets himself right over the winter.
