    Re: ALDS: Tigers vs Athletics

Bases loaded no outs and Scherzer gets out of it.

As remind me of the Yankees there. Bases loaded, couldn't get a run across.

This has been an awesome series

Colon vs Verlander in Game 5

A's vs. Tigers can make an argument for best LDS series along with STL vs. PIT.

Now, if the Rays can force a Game 5, the American League will be even more wacky.

Scherzer is the only guy on the Tigers I can stomach so seeing him get in and out of that jam was awesome...but I was hoping the A's would win the game. Since 2000 they're now 1-11 in possible series clinching games.

I hope they make it 2-11 on Thursday or the BART ride home after the game is going to pretty depressing for me and my kids.

Pitching switcheroo: Sonny Gray, not Bartolo Colon, will start for the Oakland Athletics in Game 5
    http://espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs/2013...land-athletics

A rematch of Game 2 in the rubber match between Gray and Detroit Tigers ace Justin Verlander.

    It should be good.

Verlander is pitching a no-hitter through six and two thirds. Tigers lead 3-0.

Yes, I am trying to jinx him. (Hey, it worked the last time I tried it.)

EDIT: It worked instantly this time ... as Cespedes singles JUST after I hit "Submit reply."

No hitter broken up, but still a performance for the ages. 10 strikeouts, only three men on base, not one advanced past first.

I would have pinch hit Jason Giambi that last inning. Desperate times call for desperate measures
