I got PIT over CIN in the NL.

The AL? Tough choice, but I'm going with CLE.

I feel the same way BB55.

Cleveland is riding a heat wave, and I can just see the Pirates edging out the Reds.

Bold prediction: Giambi has another walk-off this series.

I've got to say, I like Cobb a lot better than I like Salazar for this particular game. Salazar's a good young pitcher, but he's only had 10 starts in the big leagues and only 4 of them have been 6 or more innings. He tends to only throw between 75-90 pitches. Cobb has been great all year and has actually been even better since coming back from taking the liner off his head.

With Langoria heating up, I like the Rays and I'm totally pulling for Pittsburgh.

Re: The Official Watching the Scoreboard Thread - 2013 MLB Postseason

Every year, there are stories within a story in MLB postseasons and this year's knockout tournament is no different.

You have the Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals having a shot to win their third World Championship in the 21st century.

The Cleveland Indians trying to win a World Championship for a city starving and being desperate for a title while trying to break their own drought.

Will the third time be the charm for the Detroit Tigers?

The Oakland Athletics want to keep the Commissioner's trophy in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Los Angeles Dodgers trying to catch up with the San Francisco Giants after they won the last two titles head-to-head in the rivalry.

You have the Pittsburgh Pirates who overcame their postseason drought since the 1992 NLCS vying for their first title since Willie Stargell's 'We Are Family' squad in 1979.

Will Dusty Baker shed his 'choker' label with the Cincinnati Reds?

Will this be the Atlanta Braves first major playoff run post-Bobby Cox?

And finally, the Tampa Bay Rays trying to turn back the clock in their first year when they won their first American League pennant since removing the 'Devil' in their name in 2008.
It's not the 27 World Championships that drive the New York Yankees. It's the 28th.
Every year is The Year. Go Yankees.

I'm going to call it for the Pirates right now...but if things swing in the other direction..that damn fan that touched that homerun will be infamous..calling it now! lol

WTH Russell Martin? Did he get a hold of Papi's milkshake recipe?

j/k He was one of my favorite Yankees, defensively.

I like the Pirates..but I hate that Burnett is on the team. Conflict of interest for me.

2 home runs for Martin...and after the game the announcers are saying how much he helps the pitchers feel comfortable because he's "like a brick wall there" - they know they can throw anything and he can block it Wish we could have someone like that...sigh

Wow. But not surprising. RT @jonmorosi: Dan Uggla, highest paid Atlanta Brave this year, officially left off NLDS roster.

Probably why he's allowed more WPs than any catcher in baseball over the past 3 seasons.

I see the Rays are going the "Danks Theory" route, starting only two left-handed hitters against the right-handed change-up throwing Salazar (eg. Matt Joyce is on the bench)

    Position Player Hand
    LF David DeJesus L
    RF Wil Myers R
    1B James Loney L
    3B Evan Longoria R
    2B Ben Zobrist S
    CF Desmond Jennings R
    DH Delmon Young R
    SS Yunel Escobar R
    C Jose Molina

I'm sure teams have someone looking at a tv to see replays and can relay calls to the manager or someone else when umps get something wrong. Someone should have told Terry in 2 seconds that the overrule was correct so he could stop wasting peoples time.

Also all of these rebuttals of the delusional ramblings of the fans of Russell Martin because of one game of offensive output has been truly funny. Numbers Never (usually) Lie.

    Sometime before Swisher.
If they ask who was our star, give them 25 names, and if you forget our names, just tell them we were Yankees.

Rays are rolling alone..I'll call it now. Rays win. No Terry rematch against the Saux.

    3-0

Boston was 12-7 v TB but 6-1 v CLE so I guess I'm sort of rooting for Tampa in this one.

Big spot here for the Indians. Wow what a play that could have been...think he was safe. Lets see if the Indians can do something here.

Yeah, me too. My heart's with the Indians, but my head says that the Rays have the better chance of stomping the Red Sox.
