    The Miguel Cabrera Thread

I'm in shock that there was no Miggy thread. He's having the best offensive season since Bonds. A 207 OPS+!

I just noticed that Miggy batted under .320 ONCE in the last 9 years. That's nuts.

He could also be the first AL hitter to lead the league in BA three straight years since Wade Boggs did it four years in a row (1985-1988). But his power is so amazing, people don't talk much about his BA...

And he would be the first right-handed hitter to lead the AL in batting three straight years since Napoleon Lajoie did it four years in a row (1901-1904)

Simply the best hitter in the game without a doubt. Many people consider Votto to be the clear #2.

I have to root for him he's on my fantasy team. Plus, he's just sick. Best hitter on the planet.

Remember when Jesus Montero was supposed to be the next Miguel Cabrera? Whoops.

I wonder if he was juicing throughout his entire minor league career.

When he retires he's going to be to hitting what Pedro was to pitching during the peak of his career. And I find myself fortunate to have seen these guys play. No doubt among the best there ever was.

What if it becomes known that he's on the juice?

You simply have to question every player nowadays.
I'm frantic... Jeter Ceremony Date - when will this be announced????

    Same here.

Between the alcoholism, abuse, fact that he's on Detroit, and he just seems like a douche...I can't root for him. Hope Davis keeps him from getting the triple crown again. And, I think Trout should have won MVP last year.

In all seriousness, I've wondered that. Not because of anything specific, but just because it's you can't rule these things out.

If he was traded TO the Yankees, rather than from them, people would be convinced the Mariners knew....

Well, I feel sorry for alcoholics. The DUI on the other had, and the fact during the arrest he was belligerent/combative, cussed out cops, continued drinking, played the "do you know who I am" card, etc is something entirely different and generates neither sympathy nor empathy.

I realize it's a rough comparison but my point was that when I talk to my grandkids about the best I have seen Pedro and Miggy will be at the top.

I saw Bonds his entire career. Unfortunately things are what they are right now. I'm not sure how to view him.

No, I don't make these statements lightly. I thought this of Pedro while he was doing it because of how impressive he was. He stood out so far that I recognized it. Pujols was a monster in his own right. I just think when all is said and done Miggy will be superior. It's just an opinion, I could be wrong, it's happened before. But I don't make these statements because of what's happening now. I put thought into that. I'm a huge Miggy fan.
