Re: Team Bitch - 7/7/13
I know everyone loves to mention how awesome Gardner is- probably in part because of the fact he is a product of our farm- but the truth is that he is a useful, solid player but not great by any measure. He would be a great complimentary player on a very good team, but will be exposed when more is expected.

Yeah, Mo would be the first to admit it. This was a tough, tough loss.

Opening a thread for the purpose of calling Mariano Rivera a "bitch" is special.

Re: Team Bitch - 7/7/13
I think anybody over the age of five with a rudimentary understanding of baseball would understand that Rivera blew a save today. his second blown save of the season. yet another reminder that he hasn't been perfect in his career.
Still struggling with how that makes him a bitch or whatever.

So, today Mo was the reason. Why belabor the point?

Re: Team Bitch - 7/7/13
Tasteless topic. Rivera has been gold forever; but he's not God and he's not perfect. Fans saw what happened. Rivera felt bad. Nobody denies he blew the game. Maybe some more run support for Kuroda would have made using Rivera unnecessary. But to label him the "team bitch" is wrong and pathetic.

Re: Team Bitch - 7/7/13
Really? You're singling out Gardner?
OPS over past 11 days (Combined: 0 HR):
Hafner: .605
Overbay: .647
Wells: .654
Almonte: .576
Ichiro: .676
Stewart: .644
Adams: .617
Nix: .511
Cruz: .500
Gonzalez: .438
Almonte: .576
BTW: Gardner has struggled the past 5 days, not 2 weeks. In the 9 days prior to those 5 days, he had a .960 OPS.

Re: Team Bitch - 7/7/13
You just supported JDPNYY's point regarding the hero threads.
If its wrong to call a historical icon, like Mo, a "bitch" when he has a game-ending fail, then its equally wrong to call a player with no significant history, a "hero" for having a game-winning hit. One game doesn't make a bitch or a hero, which I believe, is why he mocks the hero threads.

Re: Team Bitch - 7/7/13
Then why not call them "Game MVP" threads.

Re: Team Bitch - 7/7/13
For that one single game it does.
If a guy hits a HR game to win a game or makes an E to lose the game, he is the hero or goat for THAT game for some people.
Whose saying it makes someone a hero or goat for other games, or that it defines his career or season.
Keep it real.
He mocks threads because he probably doesn't have anything better to do at the time.
The only person (so far) supporting JDPNYY point regarding hero threads is you.
I am sure there are others that find the hero thread a bit much so they do like you and don't post in them.
Those that do are extremely happy that you don't.
