    2013 David Adams Performance Thread

If he plays today he will be the 30th player since 1916 to make his MLB debut on his birthday. I found players who had at least 1 batter faced or 1 plate appearance, so if a player made his MLB debut in the field without having either of those he isn't included. He would be the first Yankee since 1916 to make his MLB debut on his birthday. Robert Manuel was the last player to make his MLB debut on his birthday which he did on July 9, 2009 with Cincinnati.

Did he get called up? If so what was the corresponding 25 and 40 man roster moves?

I'd imagine that 3rd base was the question and Nelson was not the answer.

Yeah Nelson getting DFA'd (or Gonzales if Adams can play any SS) would seem like logical moves. I just haven't seem anything offical to indicate Adams has acually been called up.

Neither have I, but I did see this article:

Logical move, in my opinion, is to get rid of Ben Francisco. Utterly useless.

He's a legit prospect. Only thing that's held him back is an ankle injury. Hopefully he gets to play everyday and get a real chance to win the 3B job.

    And it is offical.

Sounds like Adams will be the regular 3B with occasion 1B v LHP.

At least for a while anyway.

I imagine he'll at least get a lot of rope until one or more of Youk/A-rod comes off the DL.

This is the main reason that I hope he wins and keeps the job.

Nelson was officially the DFA. I had heard that earlier this morning, and I asked why not Francisco. Was told they'll hold onto him until Mustelier starts hitting in AAA (which he did today), currently at just .192 with SWB.

In his third plate appearance he got his first hit. He's made some good long throws in the field.

What is he going to do with the baseball from his first hit? "My mom and wife are probably going to fight over it, so I'll give them some boxing gloves and we'll see who wins."

He looked great at 3B and his swing looked really good too. First impression - seems like a keeper.

Considering Adams can play 1st/2nd/3rd and Nix can play anywhere, and both are superior hitters and fielders, Nunez should be very worried.

Really think that he can be the Yankees long term starting 3B. Hitting and fielding is never the question. He just needs to stay healthy.

yup, he'll get sent down again this year when Youk is back but he might platoon with ARod next season then become the full time 3B after that and ARod full time DH
The real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes

    Surprisingly positive in here.

I guess once he starts to slump or people realize he is a product of the Yankee farm he will get his comeupins.

I'm liking what I'm seeing and it's why I was down on the team (temporarily as it turned out) when he was released. He's hit everywhere he's played and there is no reason for him not to do well in the bigs. I just hope they don't mess with him by playing Brignac. This team has a habit of f*cking things up for their promising prospects.

That would have happened had the game been played yesterday. Adams was not in the lineup.

First home run tonight. Congrats to him. Hope to see him in the lineup everyday.
